An Essay On Water Pollution
Writing an essay on the topic of water pollution can be a challenging endeavor. The complexity
arises not only from the technical aspects of the subject but also from the need to convey the
importance of addressing this critical environmental issue. Crafting a well-rounded essay requires
a deep understanding of the various sources of water pollution, the impact on ecosystems, and
potential solutions.
Researching and gathering relevant information can be time-consuming, as it involves delving
into scientific studies, environmental reports, and policy documents. Moreover, one must
navigate through a plethora of statistics, case studies, and expert opinions to present a
comprehensive view of the problem. The challenge lies in synthesizing this information into a
cohesive narrative that engages the reader and communicates the urgency of the issue.
Structuring the essay poses another difficulty. Striking the right balance between introduction,
body, and conclusion is crucial for effective communication. The introduction must capture the
reader's attention and clearly define the scope of the problem. The body of the essay should
provide a nuanced exploration of the causes, effects, and potential solutions to water pollution.
Crafting a strong conclusion that leaves a lasting impression requires skillful summarization and
a compelling call to action.
Moreover, addressing the emotional and ethical dimensions of water pollution adds another layer
of complexity. Conveying the environmental impact on ecosystems, wildlife, and human
communities requires a delicate balance between facts and empathy. Balancing scientific rigor
with a human touch is essential to make the essay relatable and impactful.
In conclusion, writing an essay on water pollution demands a combination of research skills,
analytical thinking, and effective communication. It is a task that goes beyond merely presenting
information; it involves creating a compelling narrative that inspires awareness and action. For
those who find this task daunting, assistance is available. Similar essays and much more can be

Summary Of Wide Awake And Dreaming By Julie Flygare
Wide Awake and dreaming: My Expository Response. I am currently reading Wide
Awake and Dreaming: A Memoir of Narcolepsy, written by Julie Flygare. The book is
about a young adult experience the early signs associated with narcolepsy and the
effect it has on her daily life as a law student. While this book doesn t directly tie to a
particular field, it does tie well with my life as well as future plans in similar career
fields. One thing I can say is that I have so far learned a lot from flygare stories based
of the 100 pages read out of 209 pages total. I learned that law school is the most
stressful time of an individual life and that there really isn t time for much sleep.
Also, the best way to get ahead is to sit the closest to the professor

Dog Park
I believe that a dog park is both good and, bad and I have many reasons for that
statement, when considering a place to build a dog park first it does infact need to
be a lot larger than only one acre, Because a lot of dogs are territorial and when you
end up having too many dominate dogs in one area, problems are bound to occor.
Their will always be people that complain and just waste all of their time and energy
over a dogthat barks or somthing minesclew. Their are many benifts to a large dog
park that is because when you can let your dog off its leash and let it run it
improves the dogs health and overall life, and improves their behavior. The Dogpark
needs to be in a location where it can be big enough for it to

characteristics may be affected due to the interventions of the study. The study
explains that the modifiable characteristics of physiological symptoms of the
patient, social/spiritual needs of patient/caregiver dyad, and psychological
symptoms of the patient/caregiver dyad may be modified due to the careful
assessment received (McMillan et al., 2011, p. 90). Purposes of the Study The
purpose of the study was to determine the efficacy of providing systematic feedback
from standardized assessment tools for hospice patients and caregivers in improving
hospice outcomes compared with the usual clinical practice (McMillan et al., 2011, p.
90). The researchers hypothesized that patients and family caregivers being cared for
by IDTs and receiving an enhanced assessment intervention would provide a
significantly better outcome compared to those patients and family caregivers who
received the standard of care (McMillan et al., 2011, p. 90). The independent variable
is the enhanced assessment intervention. The dependent variable is the hospice
outcome. Research Design The study used an experimental design examining the
outcome of an experimental intervention. The purpose of the study was to determine
if hospice outcomes would be improved with the use of systematic feedback. The
authors hypothesized that patients and family caregivers who were

Meaning Behind the Painting, The Battle of Alexander at
Issus
The Battle of Alexander at Issus is Albrecht Altdorfer s most famous painting
(www.wikipedia.org). Painted in 1528 9, the oil painting depicts a young
Alexander the Great in 333 BC, at the point of victory over the Persian army of
King Darius III in the battle of Issus (www.ibiblio.org). Issus was an ancient town in
southeast Asia Minor near modern day Iskenderum, Turkey, however on the painting
it is shown in the rocky environment of the Alps with German cities in the
background (www.ibiblio.org). Altdorfer, a painter, engraver, architect, and leading
member of the Danube School of German art, is considered the first true landscape
painter and a pioneer of copperplate etching (www.ibiblio.org). Battle of Alexander

The Battle of Issus, is atypical in his work, in both its size and subject matter
(ww.wikipedia.org). The painting is made up of a number of miniatures of battle
scenes he had done much earlier for his manuscript Triumphal Procession in 1512
14 (www.wikipedia.org). He signed the painting with a monogram in the lower left
hand corner, dating it 1529, and also inscribed it: Albrecht Altorfer Zu Regenspvrg
Fecit on the bottom edge of the banner panel in the sky (www.wikipedia.org).
Despite the grandeur of scale, Altdorfer displays a miniaturist s mastery of brush
stoke, with every tiny figure rendered in exacting detail (Phaidon 409). The
topographic landscape was imaginatively adapted by Altdorfer from a map of the
lands around the Mediterranean and stretches as far as the Nile Valley (Phaidon 409).
Behind the huge armies are the mountains of Asia Minor in the front of the
Mediterranean Sea and Cyprus (www.wikipedia.org). In the background are
Palestine, Sinai, the Red Sea, and Africa with the meandering Nile River heading for
the Nile Delta in front of the gently bent horizon and the dramatic setting sun
(www.wikipedia.org). In the heavens, the sun and the moon cast their light over the
scene (Phaidon 409). While the all encompassing landscape may allude to the scale of
Alexander s victory, the diminutive figures lost in the immensity of nature also seem
to point to

Partial Birth Abortion Persuasive Speech
Whether you were at work, sitting at home watching TV, or not even born yet,
there are many crazy things that happened in the year 1996 that you have never
heard about. I was born on December 20, 1996 in Miles City, Montana. This means
that while most of these crazy events were taking place, I was not even born yet. A
few things that happened in 1996 include the vetoing of the ban on a procedure for
late abortions, the Unabomber being captured and arrested, and South Africa
receiving a new constitution. In April 1996, Bill Clinton vetoed a bill that outlawed
a late term abortion procedure. This bill was known as the partial birth abortion bill.
This immediately sparked protests from religious and anti abortion groups. The
vetoing of this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that an expecting mother would have the choice to end her pregnancy
later in the term, just because she doesn t want the baby anymore. Giving the soon
to be mothers this option, without a good reason to do so, makes them bad role
models for future parents. Partial birth abortions consist of the death and intact
removal of the fetus from the uterus. This usually occurs between the 19th and
26th week of pregnancy. In most cases, it is only performed on babies that are
deformed or dying. In fact, there are little to no situations you can encounter that
require a partially delivered baby to be killed just to preserve the health of a
mother. Almost 80% of partial birth abortions are completely elective. This means
that the procedure is done merely because the mother wants an abortion. Only about
500 out of the yearly total of 1.5 million abortions, are partial birth abortions. They
are mostly performed for the mother s sake, or because the child has severe
abnormalities. Many people believe that letting a pregnant woman abort their unborn
baby, so late in their term, is almost the same as infanticide. Infanticide is the crime
of killing an infant within a year of

Online Identity Theft
Online Identity Theft What is identity? The word itself can have so many
connotations, definitions, and subjects tied to it. However, the most basic definition
of our identity would be the qualities, beliefs, and baggage that make up each person.
An identity is something that each of us have a claim to from the moment we are
born to even past our death. Through the recent technology surges however, our most
basic claim is now threatened. We have all heard about crime on the streets but with
the creation of social networking websites, online shopping, and just interaction
websites we are making ourselves vulnerable to a new type of crime: online identity
theft. Identity theft is the term for the criminal act of stealing your personal... Show

When a data breach occurs there is no way to stop your information from getting out
there, nor from identity thieves from taking this information and putting it to their
own use. While the other two fraud methods introduced were avoidable, this one is
just based on luck. However more than not, the odds are in favor of the breach.
These are not the only methods which online thieves use however the are the most
common and growing increasingly at a startling rate. Although some of these are
avoidable, as thieves become more skilled soon there will be no way of protecting
ourselves. However, if we begin now through the careful use of censorship, online
identity theft can be stopped in it tracks.
How can we use censorship to protect ourselves? People often pause at the word
censorship. We often come to think of it as squelching our rights, or placing a limit
on our freedom of expression. However, in reflect of recent arising issues,
censorship is the smartest and most reliable form to protect ourselves. Although
censorship of certain websites may protect us, as the threat becomes greater, we
must go to greater lengths. In response to peer to peer sharing, by placing censorship
on these types of websites, we can protect up to 22 million users from harmful theft.
Although peer to peer file sharing is important to many people, there are many other
methods which can keep you protected and get the job done just as well. These
include email, usb methods, and

Descriptive Essay On Autographs
As I pull in the parking lot of Ray Nitschke Field seeing all the Green Bay Packer
fans dressed in their green and gold walking on the sidewalks or sitting on the
shiny silver bleachers in the practice field. (Imagery) I am thinking of where I am
going to set my stuff up and stay there. I am also thinking of the main guys that I
want to get autographs from. Getting autographs isn t an easy process, some days
it is the same temperature as it is in Texas during the summer (Simile) for two and
a half hours, outside not doing anything besides waiting for the buzzer to blow,
allowing the Packer players to come out off the practice field. Since it is a great
day to watch a Packers practice, (Prepositional phrase) I get my stuff ready for
autographs. I rush out of the car and get set in a spot to sit for a couple hours. I
hear people around me saying Here comes someone on a bike, or someone asking
me Hey, do you know who number 64 is? As i m thinking to myself who I really
want to try and get, my heart is pounding of excitement. Around 15 minutes before
the practice, everyone has their memorabilia in their hand and is waiting for the
players to come out. Finally, you can see someone come down the road very slowly
on a bike with their dark green jersey and helmet. All of the kids screaming here,
here. (Imagery) The first bike goes straight through the gates and off the practice, and
everyone gets disappointed because they wouldn t stop for their kids. Then the next

The War Of The World War
Weapons have always been a critical factor in warfare, but in the 20th century, they
became even more important and destructive, such that the world started to create
new and unimaginable weapons, like war tanks. The idea of protecting the soldiers
as well as the necessity to have vehicles that can do more damage to the enemies in
warfare and the development of industrial technologies made war tanks possible.
They became very important in warfare, especially during the Second World War
and they are still important in modern warfare. They became the world warfare
solution to keep move forward while being under fire. The British first employed
tanks in September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, where they tried to end the
bloody stalemate of trench warfare on the Western Front. The result was negative
because they didnВ ґt have sufficient training in combined arms operations and also
because the tanks were very heavy and they consumed a lot of fuel. Mainly for these
reasons, war tanks did not a critical factor in the First World War. In the Second
World War, the cavalry became obsolete and was replaced with tanks. They performed
the same tasks, such as breaking the front lines, surround the enemy and attacking
from the rear, but with more devastating results. Tanks became one of the most
important weapons in combat, especially for the Germans during their German
blitzkrieg (lightning war), where tanks advanced quickly, surprised the enemy and
proceeded to the next battle,

Persuasive Essay On K9s
The seymour police department is trying to get a k9 dog and the target goal for
fundraising is $90,000. Their trying biggest expense up front will be purchasing a
specialized vehicle to become the K9 unit. The going to remaining balance of the
money will be used to acquire the K9 and send the handler to training. Some people
think it s too expensive, but there worth the money because they re good dogs and
they save people s lives. k9s are important animals in police departments because they
protect themselves and others, they have good noses, and they chase down people for
police to arrest.
K9s are used to find drugs.Police departments use them for that reason because k9s

Harley Davidson History
The first Harley Davidson bike rolled on to the scene as a race bike. William
Harley completed his blueprint for the bike and explained that he wanted to design
an engine to fit on a bike (Dyer, J., Godfrey, P., Jensen, R., Bryce, D. 2015). Its
competition at the time was the Hendee s manufacturing company s 1.75 horsepower,
single cylinder motorcycle. The first race was a test run, but the Harley Davidson
officially entered into the racing scene in 1914, where the bike and the rider won
every race. The nick name for the bike was given because of the victory lap the
rider would take after every win (Dyer, J., Godfrey, P., Jensen, R., Bryce, D. 2015).
After being dubbed the fastest and most winning bike in the country, the thrill
seekers and men with a rough attitude started to take notice of the brand. The
military even started to contract with the motorcycle company. The police force
looked into the motorcycles for high speed chases, whereas the biker gangs would
use them to get away from the law (Dyer, J., Godfrey, P., Jensen, R., Bryce, D. 2015).
Harley Davidsoncontrolled over 60% of the market and was the only company
producing motorcycles at the time in the United Stated. But they got too
comfortable and were unwilling to make a change. Then Honda came to the scene
to make a splash. Honda Motor Company started in 1955 after World War II during a
time where Japan was rebuilding their economy (Gardinar, 2015). They were able to

But, the earthquakemade around two hundred and twenty five thousand residents

Similarities Between The Bible And The Book Of Exodus
The New Testament fulfills the promises and concerns brought up in the Old
Testament through Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the Old Testament sets up what
needs to be done by Jesus in order to save us from sin and to live in eternal
happiness. Since the two parts of the Bible describe similar topics, their themes and
events are similar as well. The Book of Exodus has elements that are repeated or
appear in later New Testament books, such as the Gospel of Luke. Events, themes,
and promises presented in Exodus resurface in the Gospel of Luke with only slight
differences, suggesting typology between the Hebrew and Christian Bibles,
specifically between Moses and Jesus. In addition to similarities between themes and
events, stories and promises are somewhat different between the two.
In both the Book of Exodus and the Gospel of Luke, there is a main character
representing a redeemer and prophet for a large population. These people are
Moses and Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah, sent down to
earth to save us from our own sin (Chappell). In Exodus, Moses is part of the plan to

Moses was reluctant at first, but who wouldn t be when a talking burning bush
appeared in front of you. He asks Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring
the Israelites out of Egypt? and says that he cannot talk with eloquence (Ranieri,
75). He makes up excuses trying to avoid God and his plan for him. But he ends up
giving in and having faith in God. Peter, one of Jesus s most devoted and faithful
apostles, denied Jesus by responding I do not know what you are talking about when
someone asked him if he was one of Christ s followers (Ranieri, 149). Peter denies his
association to Christ three times until he remembered the prophesy of the crow
cawing three times, and then he had unquestionable faith in

How Do Chameleons Change Its Appearance
Chameleons can quickly change their appearance in response to temperature,
environment, and mood. Scientists recently identified a key factor in their ability to
do this: The lizards can tune the distances between nanoscale crystals in their skin
that reflect light, creating a spectrum of colors. The cells that form its skin play a
significant roll in the colorchanges. This zoom represents 150 microns of a chameleon
skin, about twice the diameter of a human hair. When the light hits its skin, the cells
act depending on the mood of the chameleon. Crystals would be close together in a
neutral state and spread out when the chameleon gets excited. This crystals would
reflect out to the epidermis the warm light, changing the chameleons color

Those reports are your scoreboard to knowing whether your business is winning or
losing the game.Just receiving the reports is not enough. You, as a business owner,
need to understand what the data on each report means and how it affects your
operations.
Let s say you re watching a baseball game on TV. You can see the number of runs
each team has up on the scoreboard. That is the basic measure of success or failure
in the game. But it is not the only one. As a new batter approaches home base, the
announcer talks about the player s statistics RBIs, batting average, and number of
stolen bases. Those numbers tell you if the batter is All Star material or about to be
sent back to the minor leagues. The team stats tell you how well they are doing this
season.
After the game ends, you end up watching part of a cricket match, a sport about
which you know absolutely nothing. The scoreboard for the game shows the number
of runs scored and the number of wickets lost. The announcer talks about each player
s innings, not outs, centuries, overs, wides, and strike rate. Yet, there is no
information on the team s performance other than the scores.
Utterly confusing to someone not familiar with the game. Who is winning? Is that
player one of the best or not? Is the team doing well this

The Field Of Organization Development
Perhaps everything we have is a gift and inheritance from nature and one that we
are not guaranteed the end. What we have life, death, enjoyment of happiness,
freedom, etc are gift. If we do not manage it well, its inevitable end is not
guaranteed. So, we must learn to harness, ignite, re ignite, protect, exploit, extend
and preserve our heritage. It is every person responsibility to properly apply what he
or she has in ways that maximize the best of its usefulness. And the field of OD is no
exception. The organization experience called development is a test of every

Inequality in OD application and strategy represents a single strategic threat to a
field whose principles, values and precepts dates back to the beginning of
organization civilization. Fear of OD limitation and access in organizational
development is unnecessary, distractive and expensive for OD. This sentiment is the
subject of one of OD earlier scholars Marvin Weisbord. In his article, ?Why
Organizational Development Hasn?t Worked (So Far) in Medical Centers?, Marvin
R. Weisbord made an important introspection when he argues that medical centers
lack formal characteristics of industrial firms, where OD was first recognized, tested
and developed (Weisbord, 1976). Forty years since Weisbord original lamentation, a
lot has happened in OD as well the field of healthcare raising more questions than
answers. Does the healthcare environment present unique characteristics different
from OD traditional organization? Does the unique ?characteristics? or lack thereof
in healthcare present a challenge or opportunity for Organization Development? And
what does it mean for OD in the 21st Century? In order to create the organization of
the future, like the proverbial phrase goes, the doctor must first ?heals itself?. To be
effective and efficient in transforming the terrain of work life, the field of
organization development in healthcare must be strategic and inclined to adaptive

Modern Clothing Garments Is The Classic Hoodie
One of the most popular clothing garments is the classic hoodie. This sweater that
has a hood also has a drawstring that brings many benefits to the hoodie like keeping
the wind off the ears. However, one downfall to this beneficial hoodie drawstring
occurs while washing it. Many individuals who own hoodies have experienced the
drawstring being pulled half way out in the washer due to the rotation and motion
while being washed. Attempting to re thread a hoodie drawstring is rather frustrating
and can take a length of time. Even with home remedies and other options to rethread
the drawstrings, this is still an existing issue among many households. A perfect
solution is a unique tool that has the flexibility needed to weave through the... Show

Another flaw is that the string needs to be taken fully out of the hoodie. This
makes the process longer than it should. The next DIY solution uses a straw to re
thread the drawstring in a hoodie. In order to use this method, the string needs to be
fully removed. Thorin Klosowski explains the steps to use this method. After fully
removing the string from the hoodie, place it within the straw and staple it in place.
Now take the straw, which has more flexibility than a coat hanger wire, and weave
it back through the drawstring path. Once again this method has flaws. Even though
straws are common household products, not every house has these on hand. Plus, if
one is trying to fix their garment, why would they put a staple through it in order to
re thread the drawstring? The third DIY solution uses a safety pin and is explained
on Lifehacker by Patrick Allan. Once again with the drawstring fully removed, attach

Byronic Hero In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is a critique of the Byronic hero, as exemplified in
Lord Byron s Manfred. The Byronic hero is a protagonist who has the following
traits: self inflicted agony, a high self esteem, isolation from society, an exaggerated
sense of independence, and genuine guilt. All of these traits Manfred bears, but
Victor lacks two of these attributes. The lead protagonists, Victor and Manfred, have
two key differences: genuine remorse and independence. Victor s guilt is false when
compared with that of Manfred. Victor relinquishes some of his autonomy to the
monster in Frankenstein, in contrast to Manfred s steadfast hold of complete self
government. These differences, seen in Victor s personality amount to a critique of...

Lastly, a Byronic hero has genuine guilt. This requires more action than
contemplating, and continuously reiterating that a tragedy by his hand occurred.
Manfred possesses all of these traits; however, Victor lacks true remorse and retention
of his independence.
Manfred s guilt can be perceived as genuine because of three actions he takes in the
play. He verbally takes responsibility for being the cause, he seeks a solution, and
he asks Astarte, the one he s wronged, for forgiveness directly. My wrongs were all
on those I should ve cherished But my embrace was fatal (II, 87 88). In this line,
Manfred voices responsibility for the actions that took place to the Chamois
Hunter, confirming his feelings. In the play, Manfred seeks out three sources in
the hopes of alleviating his suffering: the seven spirits, the Witch and Arimanes, to
whom Manfred requests the summoning of deceased Astarte (II, 79 80). His plea
for forgiveness comes during his time with Astarte s spirit. Yet one word more am
I forgiven? (III, 152). The act of asking for forgiveness is the purest way to express
true remorse and regret to those who have been wronged, and this differentiates
Manfred from Victor the most. His seeking forgiveness also validates Manfred s
love for Astarte is a concept that Victor may not be able to grasp.
Victor expresses the misery he feels regarding his actions in relation to the monster
with zeal, but his remorse proves to be false when viewed with

Attraction and Contradictions of Life Essay
William Shakespeare in his play of Antony and Cleopatra has many suggestions on
the topic of the attractions and contradictions of the political and erotic life, but also
of the suggesting of a third kind of way of life that transcends the political and the
erotic ones. Throughout the play Shakespeare presents the emotions between Antony
and Cleopatrain many different ways that could be interpreted as loveor even perhaps
lust at times. Cleopatra was a woman of high maintenance, but yet she did seem to
love Antony a lot as she tried everything to keep him with her. At the beginning of
this play we see Cleopatra testing Antony s love for her by saying If it be love
indeed, tell me how much. This gives the impression of Cleopatra s... Show more

O er my spirit thy full supremacy thou knew st, and that thy beck might from the
bidding of the gods, command me. This quote shows that love and power are
attractions of each other as Antony s love for Cleopatra forces him to follow her.
She is the commander of his actions, even in the political and military areas of his
life, because of his overpowering love for her. Power in the play is apparently a
political force, as the play turns around the competition between Antony and
Caesar for dominance in Rome. But it has other faces too, most notably the effect
of love. Antony refuses to be dominated by Caesar, but he willingly submits to
Cleopatra. Power is thus a political and a personal force, one that impacts the
desires of both individuals. Caesar states that between love and political power,
there is a certain degree of interaction between both of the entities in life which I
thus is a direct correlation. I should have known no less. It hath been taught us
from the primal state that he which is wish d until he were; and the ebb d man, ne

that people in power are never missed or appreciated until they are gone. People are
ungrateful, or unable to see the good in front of them, especially when it comes to
those who rule them. It s easier to complain against those in power than to praise
their good. Same applies to love, that at times we do not

Chevre Research Paper
Chevre is a goat s cheese with a delicate, tart flavor that compliments many dishes.
It is commonly used in pasta dishes, usually as a filling or sauce. However, it s
creamy texture and earthy flavor give it a wide range of uses. One of the best
ways to use fresh chevre is as an appetizer. Here are five ways to use fresh chevre
as an appetizer: 1. Finger Sandwiches A common appetizer for tea parties or
brunches are finger sandwiches. Although they commonly use cream cheese or
pimento cheese as a filling, fresh chevre is a good alternative. You can pair the
cheese with cucumber slices, basil, and mint for a traditional finger sandwich. For
something with a bit more of a punch, pair the cheese with crunchy pecans. Both

The creamy texture pairs wonderfully with the crunchy bread. It can be paired with
a wide assortment of things for a fun and flavorful topping. Pair the cheese with
red peppers, olive oil, and sun dried tomatoes for a savory appetizer. You could also
pair the cheese with citrus zest, flavored oils, or whatever your heart desires. If
you want something on the sweeter side, pair it with preserves and honey. 3.
Stuffed Figs or Dates Stuffed appetizers are the perfect finger food for dinner
parties or brunches. Pair the fresh chevre with figs or dates for a sweet and savory
appetizer. Fill figs with the cheese and chopped rosemary. Wrap in prosciutto or
bacon and bake until warm. Drizzle with aged balsamic for an even bigger flavor.
If you prefer dates, simply fill them with the cheese and bake until warm. Both are
easy and tasty appetizers. 4. Baked Dip You could also use the fresh chevre to
make a warm dip for crackers. Mix the fresh chevre with cream cheese, diced
tomatoes, and basil. Bake in hot oven until warm and bubbly. Top with some olive
oil immediately before serving, and serve with any type of cracker you like. 5. Stuffed

Essay on Al Capone Biography
When I sell liquor, they call it bootlegging. When my patrons serve it on silver trays
on Lake Shore Drive, they call it hospitality. Al Capone [Woog, 25]
Al Capone was one of the most notorious gangsters during the 1920 s. He was a
self made business man. He had a ready smile and a quick handshake, which if you
did not play your cards right, could turn out to be fatal. It took 500 gangland murders
to make Capone the boss of Chicago. He was public enemy number one. Capone
single handedly gave Chicago the nickname The Lawless City.

He had everything to do with anything that involved gambling, sex, or alcohol.
Once Capone had everything he wanted in Chicago, he realized he was highly
disliked by the whole country because he began to hear comments on the street and
in the newspapers. Although he often did business with Capone, the mayor
William Big Bull Hale Thompson, wanted Capone out of Chicago because Capone
was bad for Thompson s political image. So the mayor hired a new police chief to run
Capone out of the city, and he personally saw Capone out of the city. Capone looked
all over for a new location and he decided to move to an estate in Palm Island, Florida
in 1928.
Once Capone was out of the city, attempts on Capone s life were becoming regular
but he had connections with newspapers and policemen so he quickly found out
about the plots. He, on the other hand, was very discrete and clever about his
murders. He would always have an alibi, because he himself would rarely do the
murdering.
His most notorious murder was the St. Valentine s Day massacre. On February 14,
1928, four of Capone s men entered a garage of the Main Liquor warehouse for
bootlegger George Bugs Moran s North Side Gang. When the men entered the
garage two of Capone s men were dressed as police officers and therefore the North
Side Gang dropped their weapons. When they did Capone s gang murdered them

Death In The Entire World
In The Death of the last Black Man in the Entire World, Suzan Lori Parks gives
thought provoking insight into how different cultures reconcile with death and dying.
While it is evident that every culture deals with the unperceived elements of death, I
am certain that the process they go through do not mirror each other. In the play, I
noticed that Parks does not just focus on deathand dying, but the actual manner in
which the African American community processes the reality of death itself. The
way in which Parks examines every aspect of death leads me to believe that she was
not referencing the physicality of death; her analysis is not limited to just one
individual, it transcends way beyond a single person. She also focuses on the
methods that the African American culture employs to subsist with the reality of
death,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her repetition of several of the lines is proof of that, as she emphasizes numerous
times the urgency with which she believes this message needs to be received. Not
only is the repetition an attempt to communicate to the audience this urgency with
which History is deteriorating, it also speaks of the loss and the need to reclaim
experience and traditions. Having the characters come together verbalizing their
concerns in reference to death on a united platform was her way of showing that
ultimately African Americans were the only ones who would be responsible for
preserving their cultural memory. Their desire to obtain a better understanding of
death and seeking to obtain a more effective understanding of how to sustain their
culture while dealing with death would be essential to achieving this goal. The fact
that they are able to acknowledge that there is a greater issue at hand more significant
than death solidifies the hope that exists to preserve black

A Better Map Of Europe

EUROPE
Europe is the 6th largest continent and is actually a vast peninsula of the great
Eurasian land mass.
Regions
Europe can be divided into seven geographic regions: Scandinavia (Iceland, Norway,
Sweden, Finland, and Denmark); the British Isles (the United Kingdom and Ireland);
W Europe (France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Monaco); S Europe
(Portugal, Spain, Andorra, Italy, Malta, San Marino, and Vatican City); Central
Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic,

European part of Turkey); and E Europe (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine,
Moldova, the European portion of Russia, and by convention the Transcaucasian
countries of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan).
Europe is a unique continent, which is not surrounded by water from all directions,
and has an overland border with the neighbouring Asia. Physiographically, it occupies
the northwestern part of the large landmass known as Eurasia and surrounded from
the north by the Arctic Ocean, from the west by the Atlantic Ocean, from the south
by the Mediterranean Sea, and from the southeast by the Black Sea.
Definition of correct border between two continents was a big question for
geographers and politicians. Nowadays it is commonly delineated by the Ural

differing and struggling families; the Lambs and the Pickles, in the barren land of
post war Perth forced, against their will, to live under the same roof at number 1
Cloud Street. Although each of the characters has diverging personalities,
perspectives and issues throughout the text, they are more alike than it may seem at
a surface level. Every one of the characters all struggle with their own personal

Julius Caesar Betrayal Essay
Betrayal in Julius Caesar William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar has
many themes lied within its script. One theme in particular sticks out throughout the
play and, that theme can be tied to three specific characters. William Shakespeare s
Julius Caesar presents the timeless theme of betrayal can ultimately lead to
absurdity. First, the first betrayal towards Caesar triggers the chaos among the men
in Julius Caesar. Next, Mark Antony s betrayal towards the Senate boosts the
illogicality up to a whole new level. Lastly, the betrayal within the main characters
conclusively ends most of the chaos and the play. Now that the structure for how
betrayal is tied to the characters is laid out, now it s time to state how all that can tie...

First, once Cassius kills himself, the men begin to grieve. When Cassius commits
suicide, which is his betrayal to himself, the men begin to settle their tomfoolery.
Due to the men s betrayal to one another during their war, this leads to a
misunderstanding, which ultimately led to Cassius death. Second, once Portia
commits suicide, this eases Brutus motivation for betrayal because of his wife s
death. Even if Brutus brushes off her death, it really was one of the assets that
drove him off the deep end. Portia s death goes hand in hand with Brutus which
ultimately ended the men acting so absurd. Lastly, due to Brutus suicide, this ends
all the absurdity amongst the men. Once Brutus runs on his sword this sets the final
peace, mainly because there is no one else to betray. This example clearly states
how betrayal leads to complete chaos, once there is no one else to betray there s
finally peace. In conclusion, the betrayal that had happened amongst the men and
Romans (suicide) in the play was what conclusively ended most of the chaos. With
self betrayal being represented with suicide, after a good amount of characters
commit suicide, there isn t anyone else to betray. So this ultimately ends the

Hesiod s Plight Of Women In Greek Myth
The Greek poet Hesiod once said that A man wins nothing better than a good wife,
and then again nothing deadlier than a bad one. This proved to be especially true
for Israel, for they suffered many things because of their intermarriage with foreign
women. In doing so, they not only afflicted Ezra, but the Lord of heaven and earth.
They, therefore, stood condemned. However, the Lord, being full of mercy, did not
punish the Israelite nation as severely as He could have. Ezra acknowledges this in
his prayer, as well as the guilt of his people, and then concludes chapter nine by
proclaiming the righteousness of God. As Ezra continued his prayer with mourning
and weeping, the people gathered around him and began to weep bitterly as well. It

Moreover, Tet is a chance for Vietnamese families, relatives and friends to get
together. On the first day of Tet, all members in the family dress up in their

parents houses. According to Vietnamese traditions, people believe that the first
person who comes to their house on the first day of Tet is very important because
his or her destiny can determine the fortune of the family for the whole year.
Therefore, people never come to any house on the first day unless they are invited.
Householders usually invite people who have good virtue and success, such as their
children or grandchildren who are intelligent or successful, to come to their house
on the first day, so that they bring luck and success to the family. In some extended
families, the chosen children pretend to go out for a few minutes and come back
home as if they are the first people come to the house. When coming home, everyone
says Happy New Year to each other. Children give the elders wishes for their luck
and good health for the new year. Then they receive lucky money put in many red

and careers. On the second and third days, people visit their relatives and friends.
They give all the best wishes to each other and have a good time together. People

Using imagery and creative strategy, the author made it helpful of a much better
understanding of what events occurred in the Russian Revolution. As said in the

Napoleon showed great likeness to one leader named Joseph Stalin. Stalin was a
dictator of the Soviet Socialist Republics from 1929 to 1953. The Soviet Union,
also known as USSR was supposed to change a peasant like society into a strong

USMC Then Now and Forever
The USMC is the most advanced military fighting force on the planet. Most think
the marines are just hardened killers but that s not entirely true. First and foremost
a marine is a rifleman. Every marine regardless of their job is taught to be
proficient with the standard issue rifle. Marines are more than that, a select few
get to go to special operations schools. In those schools marines learn exceptional
skills, skills such as how to defuse multiple bombs in a very tense firefight. Still the
marines are more than the skills they learn. They are true hero s some even call
them angels of death. They become like this in a place called Paris Island. Paris
Island is where men become marines. When you first arrive at the island you are
not called a marine yet. All drill sergeants label the recruits whatever they wish but
they have not earned the title of marine. Basic training is a 12 week course of hell
on earth. The course is broken up into 3 phases. Phase one is to break the recruits
of their civilian habits. This is where most cannot do it, but it is too late to back
out now they are in commitment. After phase one comes phase two. This is where
recruits get field training and learn how to use and care for a rifle. Lastly phase
three this is where recruits regurgitate all they learned, this last phase is the end of
the most difficult training basic has to offer. Once boot camp is completed the
marines move off to their respective schools or jobs, for more training or

Fluoride Pros And Cons
What is fluoride? Water fluoridation has always been a hot topic and now it s at its
peak, from debates in the news among congressmen and from state to state. Fluoride
is a compound of chemicals that are used to help prevent tooth decay, and can prevent
loss of important minerals from the tooth enamel. Many Americans consume fluoride
through which can be found in water, soft drinks, and juice. Water fluoridationhas
been around since the 1940 s, when it was commonly known to be in everyone s
drinking water. There are four different ways to get fluoride: have a dentist apply it,
take fluoride tablets, using tooth paste with fluoride, and drinking water with
fluoride in it. When fluoride is applied it will help reduce cavities and help your

The history of fluoride dates back to the 1940 s when an experiment was
conducted in four major cities in the United States to see if water fluoridation
would help the communities with dental cavities. This study states that Over a ten
year period of fluoridation, the incidence of cavities in each city was cut in half.
The beneficial effect of fluoride was not dependent on the source of the fluoride
(Fallon 2006 pg. 2). The benefits of fluoride are great because if a person takes in
some fluoride over a period of time there will be less cavities and he/she will have
stronger teeth. Arkansas Dental Hygiene Association states, Community water
fluoridation is an effective, safe, and inexpensive way to prevent tooth decay.
Fluoridation benefits Americans of all ages and socioeconomic status. It has been
proven that the use of fluoride dental products can effectively prevent tooth decay in

Relationship Between Depression And A Shadow
He once told me that depression felt like a shadow. Everywhere he went, it was right

sun sinks below the horizon and the stars begin to appear, the shadow loses its fuel

Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems
Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent
and severe droughts due to climate change has stimulated research into water saving
irrigation strategies aiming at producing more crop per drop (Morison et al., 2008).
The trend in recent years has been towards conversion of surface irrigationto drip
irrigationto improve water use efficiency, plant quality and, crop yield. Drip
irrigation systems have increasingly been used to supply irrigation water,
fertilizers, and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees
due to their ability to enable highly localized application of water and nutrients to
crops (Kandelous et al., 2011; Selim et al., 2013). Drip systems can achieve... Show

Saito and Kitahara (2012) used ground penetration radar to predict the changes in
water content under subsurface drip irrigation. Studies also used disturbed soil
samples by gravimetric method (Al Mefleh and Abu Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al.,
2015) and point based soil water sensors such as TDR (da Silva et al., 2009; dos
Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (FernГ Ўndez GГ Ўlvez and Simmonds,
2006) to estimate SWC variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have
investigated two dimensional (2D) wetting patterns changes while three dimensional
(3D) wetting patterns could provide more insights into the changes of wetted radius
and depth under drip irrigation. This is due to the fact that spatial variations in soil
properties induce spatial variations in water distribution patterns between drippers
(Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements to detect wetted soil volumes around
drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number of measurement
points distributed vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor variations
in wetting patterns which is laborious and time consuming and practically infeasible
sometimes if point based sensors used. Therefore, it is necessary to explore
alternative soil water sensing techniques which could provide spatially dense
measurements at small to field scales.
Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) systems are optoelectronic devices which

The Effects Of Helicopter Parenting On Young Adults Who...
Helicopter parenting is the over use or excessive use of parental guidance thought to
generate a slower progression of emotional maturity and physical wellbeing in young
adults. The methods used in this review include examining previous literature and
current studies on this issue of helicopter parenting. The purpose of this review is to
establish the measure of autonomy and mental wellbeing in young adults who are
entering college for the first time.
This literary review looks at the long term effects of helicopter parenting. While
parental involvement is clearly linked to positive traits in children, can over parenting
produce negative outcomes? Issues that have been related to helicopter parenting
include a lack of autonomy and satisfaction with life, increased stress, anxiety and
depression and overall poor coping skills (Schiffrin et al., 2013). Perhaps if a link
between the issues listed above and helicopter parenting can be proven, then a way
to correct or reverse the issue can also be identified.
The current research and studies on the effects of helicopter parenting are being
pioneered by Chris Segrin of Arizona State University. In one article titled Maternal
Care and Control as Mediators in the Relationship between Mothers and Adult
Children s Psychosocial Problems, Segrin and his colleagues investigate the
relationship between mothers and adult children s psychosocial problems. This article
looked at the direct measure of depression, loneliness and

A Survey On Nosql Database And Relational Database
ABSTRACT
MIN HE. A survey on NoSQL database and relational database. (Under the direction
of DR. JIANPING FAN)
NoSQL database, also called as not only SQL database, is using a different data
storage and retrieval mechanism from the relational tables adopted by traditional
relational database management system. In the sense of CAP (Consistency,
availability and tolerance) theorem, NoSQL database sacrifices some consistency
features to get more availabilities and partition tolerances. In most cases, NoSQL
database systems are distributed and parallel, although the RDBMS is still
dominating the database market, the NoSQL databases are becoming more and more
popular and in a tendency of catching up, especially in the domains of SNS and
major Internet companies, which requires large scale data storage for massively
parallel data processing across a large number of commodity servers. The purpose
of this report is to understand main characteristics of the NoSQL database and
compare the strengths and weaknesses of NoSQL databases over the RDBMS.
NoSQL database has witnessed rapid development since it was first used by Carlo
Strozzi in 1998. Various systems were implemented by using different approaches:
column, document, key value, graph, etc. In this report, I will also present the main
features of those different models and compare their advantages and disadvantages.

Descriptive Essay About Water
I frantically piled sand on top of sand. I was trying to build my dream sandcastle
independently, without anyone s help. The moist, dark sand kept falling apart
though, I gave up. With the bow in my hair and swimsuit full of sand, I ran over to
my Dad.
Daddy, my sand castle keeps falling down. Can you help me?
My Dad, with a broad smile on his face, scooped me into his big, loving arms. He
walked over with me in his arms to a smooth spot of sand, and together we built a
fascinating sand castle.
When we were finished, he took my tiny, sandy hand in his, and my thick little
fingers clung to his large firm hand. I looked up to his smiling face with large,
hopeful eyes and said, I love you, Daddy.
I love you very much, my little princess.
It was then the giant majestic waves tugged at my tiny feet like a rope tugging me
into itself. His protective hand held mine even tighter as I tried to pull away. I
wanted to go play in the playful waves.
Daddy, I want to play in the ocean.
Okay, but I ll come with you to make sure the waves don t pull you away.
No, Daddy. I want to go in by myself. And with that independent statement, I ran
into the waves, which welcomed me with full force. They filled my senses with a
sharp, salty smell, the foam blinded my eyes, and my energetic little body and pink
bow was swallowed by the fast flowing water.
Twelve years later, I was no longer tugging myself away from my Dad to play in the
ocean. I was in the ocean. I was trying to

How Micro Transactions Can Use For Play And Paid Games
Are...
Micro transactions
Background
The use of micro transactions in free to play and paid games are the norm nowadays.
The different types of micro transactions in games can range from simple color
changes, buffs, buying items, and account transfers. The concept behind micro
transactions is to let the consumer choose what they want, and it lets the developer
earn extra money on the side. The problem with using micro transaction in games is
that the developers will stop making good games, and instead make games revolve
around the necessity of using micro transactions (Rybicki, 2006).
Revenue
The amount of money a free to play game earns will shock most people. According
to SuperData, a marketing intelligence firm, Riot Games in 2013 earned $624
million from League of Legends (Jarvey, 2014). League of Legends is a free to play
game that has micro transaction. The appeal of generating money through micro
transactions in gaming are stronger than ever with profits reported by the likes of
Riot Games. The following chart shows the top ten online free to play game
revenues for 2013.

Price of gaming
History
The age of playing on the video game console was thought to end in recent years,
but strong need for console gaming is still in demand. The Sony Playstation 4 has
sold over 20 million, while Microsoft and Nintendo have sold half that amount. Sony,
Microsoft and Nintendo are projected to earn over $15

Summary Of Tokay Geckos Mating
Most Tokay Geckos are so gray they almost appear a light blue with brown or
orange specks or spots. Although when necessary they can slightly change the
shade of their skin. They also have little hairs on their feet called setae to help them
travel faster and climb easier and farther, like upside down. Additionally, their
eyelids are clear or transparent and when their tail is bitten off it can regrow or
regenerate, although it will most likely never be as long. Tokay Geckos matingseason
lasts four to five months. Their gestation period is around four to eight weeks and
they have two to three eggs per period. This can happen more than once during a
mating season. Both parents protect their eggs until birth, which is slightly unusual,

Sandra Cisneros, Fredrick Douglass, And Malcolm X
I hate the fact of knowing that the only way for someone to mentally escape can
bring evilness into their eyes. Why is it that that happens? Why is our only escape
the way that can bruise us the most? Don t you hate when you hold a passion for
something and everyone around you disapproves of the fact. It s like you re
holding onto the last string but in reality nobody is at the other end, you re all
alone. You are fighting for yourself. You are pushing yourself, 7.5 billion people in
the world but you are still all alone. On a good note for some people their escape
captivates them and brings them peace. Little do you know those escapes are really
reading, to one it brought bruises and to the other it brought peace. That one thing

Little do you know the two men, Fredrick Douglass and Malcolm X, died climbing
that mountain, they died breaking those chains, the died striving for the
maximum. Nobody believed these three people; Sandra Cisneros, Fredrick
Douglass, and Malcolm X; had the gift in the beautiful words they wrote. The
words that influenced others to strive for the maximum that they were never able
to even see. Their words allowed others to break free from the chains, it allowed
them to climb to the top of the mountain that nobody believed they could reach. We
are always given the negative, why are we always fed the negative? We crave the
attention, we crave the fact of knowing someone being there to guide and help us.
In a sense, everything I have written has been for him, to win his approval even
though I know my father can t read English words,... . This was a quote from
Sandra Cisneros piece, Only Daughter, she craved the attention and approval of her
father, that was never given. From this time I was narrowly watched. If I was in a
separate room any considerable length of time, I was sure to be suspected of
having a book, and was at once called to give an account of myself. All this,
however, was too late. The first step had been taken. Mistress, in teaching me the
alphabet, had given me the inch, and no precaution could prevent me from taking the
ell. As said by Frederick Douglass, all he

Scarlet Pimernel Moral Dilemmas
What Would You Do for Your Loved Ones?
Austin Ermisch
Honors English 9/Per. 4

When people say that they love someone, that they would die for them, would
they? Would they really? If they are put to the test, if they are faced with a
challenge, saving an old friend from high school, or a girlfriend, a moral dilemma
would show the truth in what they do to the loved ones. Sir Percy and Marguerite
show many different ways of love within their marriage. The love marguerite deals
with will be tested throughout the book, the Scarlet Pimpernel, by Baroness Orczy, or
the danger that her brother is in. This novel is generally about how Marguerite faces
and overcomes the challenges that come with love.
If Marguerite knew before she was in a moral dilemma that the Scarlet Pimpernel
was her husband, would she still chose to save her brother over her husband,
knowing the experience that Percy has been through? Quick Sir Andrew! the
coach is ready, and there is not a moment to be lost.... I must get to him! I must!
(pg. 207). This shows how much affection that Marguerite has for Sir Percy, she is
very desperate for saving him from the decision she made earlier in the book. She
doesn t want to see Percy get hurt at all, even if he has been the Scarlet Pimpernel
for the whole time. This also shows that Marguerite is a dare devil, in a sense.
Because she knows that she is the Scarlet Pimpernel. So why would she save him?
She saves

How Does The Honey Bee Affect Our Society
The honey bee is the substructure of the human population. It is imperative that
the world knows about the decline of honey bees and work together to save the
honey bee population. Nearly one third of the world s crops are dependent on
honeybees, but over the last decade the black and yellow insects have been dying at
an unexpected rate in the United States. Pesticides, disease, poor weather, and the
stress of being taken from one orchard to another to pollinate different crops all play
a role in the decline of the honey bee. The honeybeeas a species is not in danger of
extinction, but a large portion of our food supply is, because the honey bee no longer
has the ability to support the industry of commercial pollination. Without honey

Abolition And James Russell Lowell
Abolition and James Russell Lowell
The Declaration of Independence gave us the famous words: we hold these truths to
be self evident, that all men are created equal. James Russell Lowell was a staunch
believer that this famous phrase referred to all men, including slaves. Lowell held the
opinion that it was the inborn right of all men to be free and that God created all
human beings with the same natural rights. The poems The Present Crisis, On the
Capture of Fugitive Slaves Near Washington, and Ode Recited At the Harvard
Commemoration combined moral and religious beliefs and arguments to make a
political statement about the abolition of slavery.
The Present Crisis was written by James Russell Lowell in 1844 to the discuss the
crisis sweeping the nation at that time slavery. In this poem, Lowell explains some of
the justifications for the practice of slavery, which he considered to be utterly
incorrect. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By writing this poem, the author hopes to clearly state that all men are equal and
that slavery is an affront to God. Ultimately his goal is that those reading this poem
will be inspired to abolish slavery. He makes it clear that all people are equal in the
eyes of God, or in Lowell s words, God works for all (Lowell 82). Lowell believed
that America was no longer using morality as its guide, but instead was being
guided by poorly concealed self interest. According to a critic of Lowell s, He
believed that America had lost sight of the common good. Increasingly divided into
high and low, the populace seemed, to his mind, no longer willing to distinguish
individual self interest from civic virtue (Bell 131). As a result of the strong
sentiments the author displays in this poem, the reader might feel repulsed at those
who put themselves and what they perceive to be best for their country above

Basketball Game In Basketball
On April 7th, 2008 an instant classic of a basketball game was played between Bill
Self s Kansas Jayhawks and John Calipari s Memphis Tigers. It was the national
Championship between two power house number one seeded teams. The Tigers
seemed to have the game locked up, with just over two minutes left they had a 9
point lead over the Jayhawks. Out of nowhere Kansas caught fire to produce an
epic comeback. With 2 seconds left Mario Chalmers, the dead eye Jayhawk point
guard, hit a quick catch and shoot three pointer to tie the game at 65. The Jayhawks
went on to win the game in overtime, 75 68, in what would become not only KU s
first championship in twenty years, but would also go down as one of the greatest
championship games in college basketballhistory. The 2007 08 team will be
remembered for the win and, more importantly, for Mario s Miracle , the name given
to Mario Chalmers game tying shot. However, the Jayhawks had extensive success
throughout the whole season that brought them to that point. The season was
highlighted by a deadly accurate, high scoring offense that was fueled by a
suffocating defense that swarmed at every opportunity to take the ball away, and the
powerful showing in the tournament games leading up to the epic conclusion.
Led by junior guard Brandon Rush at 13.3 points per game, Kansas finished the
regular season ranked tenth in the nation for points per game at 81.5. Four of their
seven man rotation averaged ten or more points per game. The Hawks

Why Health Professionals Engage In Plagiarism
Why it is important for Health Professionals not to engage in plagiarism including
submission of another person s work as their own
Health professionals should not engage in plagiarism as it is unethical, dishonest and
is form of cheating (1,2). Health professionals are respected and trusted by their
colleagues and patients. Engaging in plagiarism damages that trust and respect. A
health professional submitting another person s work as their own can have
implications on their career, their field of discipline and their relationship with other
health professionals. In medicine, this is particularly important as doctors abide by
the Hippocratic Oath and engaging in plagiarism undermines this. Plagiarism is a
form of unacceptable academic practice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At a student level, the University of Otago can impose a range of penalties for
plagiarism including: warnings, reduced marks, zero marks for the work
submitted, zero marks for the paper and even exclusion from the university (1).
These penalties not only act as a deterrent but it shows the seriousness in which the
University views plagiarism. Any one of these penalties can potentially impair a
health professional s training in the discipline of their choice or in the case of
exclusion, unable to complete their training entirely thereby having to choose
another career elsewhere. At a professional level, plagiarism could be viewed as
serious misconduct and health professionals may be referred to a disciplinary
committee, such as the Health Practitioner s Disciplinary Tribunal (5). Again, the
possible penalties include: a charge of professional misconduct, a criminal
conviction or struck off the register (5). It is obvious from these penalties that
plagiarism is dealt with in a serious manner. This is important, as plagiarism is
unprofessional, unethical and as mentioned previously can be viewed as theft. These
penalties are in concordance with the dishonesty associated with plagiarism. It serves
as a reminder and a warning to health professionals what they can potentially face if
they engage in a form of dishonest practice or

Universal Themes Of Contentment And Conpectation In
Great...
Great Expectations The novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens as well as
its adaptation from the PBS s mini series explore the universal themes of
contentment and discontentment as well the idea of loss. Both the novel and the
movie adaptation start off with Pip in the cemetery near the marshes meandering
about his parents and five siblings graves. The reader and viewer receive the sense
that he s either contemplating the loss he has endured or perhaps contemplating
what his life could have been like if things had gone differently. Bernard Paris
describes this scene, as follows, His sense of the precariousness of existence is
epitomized by the graves of his five little brothers and is intensified by Magwitch,
who threatens to cut his throat if he does not stop crying and to eat his heart and
liver if he does not bring him supplies. Pip s encounter with Magwitch is so
significant because it epitomizes, in an extreme way, his everyday experience
(Paris, 1997). While Joe Gargery was uneducated, not well dressed, and a hard
working blacksmith, he is still someone Pip looks up to during Pip s childhood.
Pip even tells Miss Havisham that he wants to be a blacksmith someday like Joe.
Pip and Joe have plenty of conversations and are happy to keep each other s
company. Pip is discontent with his life because he is somewhat aware that there are
things out of his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Private Schools vs. Public Schools
Choosing between a public or a private school for one s education is as important
as deciding where to invest one s hard earned money the consequences influence
one s life forever. In the United States, it is the law for every child to be educated.
However, the decision as to where to go for one s educationis up to each individual.
There is a great deal of debate as to which is the better option: for profit private
schools or one s local public school. Ultimately, the decision is made regarding the
individual student s needs and capabilities; but if the opportunity is available,
attending a private schoolis more beneficial. Private schools provide a better quality
of education than public schools. Notable alumni and current pupils,... Show more

Public schools have to meet curriculum requirements, but private schools can use
their independence to embrace new teaching methods and expand upon whichever
subjects they need. For example, a private school may have a highly advanced
medical program, which most public schools don t offer. Adolescents interested in
that field would be able to learn important skills needed for that career that are not
taught at public schools. Students at all different learning levels will get
individualized instruction directed towards their skill level so they can improve in
the most efficient and effective way possible. Private schools [can be] highly
specialized, offering differentiated learning, advanced curriculum, or programs
geared towards specific religious beliefs (Great Schools). In this way they provide
better quality education because they are able to tailor their courses to make learning
more effective. Instruction meets students specific needs. The material taught to
them is more beneficial as it will relate to what they want to study after high school
or influence their career decisions. Private schools will teach students high moral
standards (specifically if they are religious schools) that will give students a more
positive high school experience. Moreover, since they have control over who and
how many students attend their schools, private schools can have smaller classes for
students.
