Applications of mechanisms

This presentation deals with the applications of inversion of different mechanisms such as four bar chain, Single slider crank chain and Double slider crank chain mechanisms.

4. Introduction Theory of Machines is one of the core Subjects of Mechanical Engineering. Mechanism:- When one of the links of a Kinematic chain is fixed, it forms a Mechanism. It requires minimum four links to form a Mechanism. Inversion:- It is the method of obtaining different mechanisms by fixing different links in a Kinematic Chain.

6. Applications of Four Bar crank chain mechanisms 1.Beam Engine :- It is used to convert rotary motion into reciprocating. It is used in pumping Oil from Well.

11. Applications of Single slider crank chain mechanisms 1.Reciprocating motion engine:- It is used to convert rotary motion into reciprocating motion. Examples: 1.I.C. Engine of automobile 2.Reciprocating pump Compressor.
