BeejaMandala Temple is a ruined temple situated in Jatkara Village, near Khajuraho of
Madhya Pradesh. The initial structure was reconstructed in the Paramara period, 11

This is monument is 1192 by the first Muslim Ruler of Delhi Qutbuddin Aibak.
It was one of the first examples of Indo-Islamic Architecture. It is a masjid situated in Ajmer,
Rajasthan (not Ajmer Sharif Dargah).
It has an interesting story behind its construction.
Muhammad Ghori, the conqueror after defeating Prithvi Raj Chauhan, order his then slave
Qutbuddin Aibak to construct a mosque in 2 and a half days, after that only he will leave for
Herat.
The architect Abu Bakr decided to construct the masjid on a ruined temple using its pillar and
plinth and within 2 and a half days he completed a small part of the masjid. Thus gaining the
name from the time it took to built, which means “Two and a half days Hut”

Hirkani, a brave women used to live in a village on the foothills of a very famous fort. She used to go to the fort
every morning to sell milk and come back the same day to her village where she has her baby.
One day she was late while returning from the market after selling milk, So the Maavlas (Guards of Chhatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj) closed the gates for security reasons. This was done every evening.
Thus, Hirkani was trapped in the fort, and she was not able to reach to her 2 month old baby. Thus she did the
unthinkable by descending the fort on foot though the foot walls which are 2700 ft high walls. She descended
successfully through the steep and sharp rocks.
When next day she came through the front gate the Maavlas were shocked. She was taken to the Chhatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj, where she again demonstrated her brave deed and was awarded by Raje himself.
Discovering a loophole he made a bastion and named it Hirkani Burj.

The X Fort complex is on three hillocks: Krishnagiri named after Krishna Kon to the north, Rajagiri or

together constitute a fort complex, each having a separate and self-contained citadel. The fort walls
are 13km (8.1mi) and the three hills are connected by walls enclosing an area of 11 square
