Examples Low level of arousal such as the youngster who feel low or frustrated tends to go to clubs or hang out with friends. High level of arousal such as feeling too curious about the comment of your crush on your recent photo on facebook or instagram .

According to this theory , we are motivated to maintain an optimal level of arousal.
