TheDepartmentofCivilEngineeringhasawidearrayofmostmodernlaboratoryequipmentthatcan
adequatelycatertothevarieddemandsofB.Tech,M.Techstudentsalongwithdifferentconsultancy
andresearchrequirements.Thedepartmenthasstateoftheartinfrastructurefacilities.Itconsistsof
classroomswithLCDprojectorsandadedicateddepartmentallibrarywithadecentcollectionofbooks
inadditiontotheCollegeCentralLibrary.ThesyllabusprescribedforbothB.Tech &M.Tech
coursesisafineblendoftheoreticalknowledgeandpracticalapplications.Thesyllabusisframedas
percurrentdevelopmentsinthefieldofCivilEngineering,withaclearfocusonbridgingthegap
betweenclassroomlearningandindustrydemands.Thedepartmentisstrengthenedwithhighly
qualifiedanddedicatedfacultymembershavingrichteaching,researchandindustrialexperience.The
DepartmentofCivilEngineeringwasestablishedintheyear2008withamodestintakeof60students.
TheDepartmentstartedM.TechcourseinStructuralEngineeringintheyear2013withanintakeof18
students.Subsequentlyintheyear2014,theB.Techintakeincreasedto120students.TheDepartment
isheadedbyProf.C.SivaKumarPrasadwhohasmorethan7yearsofteachingand8yearsof
industrialexperience.

Theworkshopaimstoprovideadequateworkingknowledgeontotalstationswhicharewidelyinuse
acrosscivilengineeringandotherindustries.TheWorkshopProgramintendstoSurveyingorland
surveyingisthescienceofmakingallessentialmeasurementstodeterminetherelativepositionof
pointsorphysicalandculturaldetails.ExpertsinSurveyingcanbecomelicensedsurveyorsand
membersofvariousbuildingprofessions.ATotalStationisanelectronic-opticalinstrumentusedin
modernsurveyingandconstruction.Theworkshopaimstoprovideadequateworkingknowledgeon
totalstationswhicharewidelyinuseacrosscivilengineeringandotherindustries.
