13. Tank Cleaning Procedure We Follow De -Watering Removing the access water from the tank to get access to the sludge. Customer has to show the point to drain the water. Chemical Wash Disinfecting the complete tank with the help of tank cleaning chemical / antimicrobial agent. Ex: Sodium Hypochlorite. Removing the slurry sludge with the help of sludge sucking lorry. Removing the dry sludge & mud with the help of crane & manpower. Hi-Pressured water is used to clean the tank walls & floor. 25. Customer Requirement A 24 Million Litre storage capacity rain water tank to be cleaned..

26. A rain water storage tank of 24 Million liter storage capacity underground sump, accumulating approximately 1.5 Acres of land has to be cleaned.. The tank is entry restricted/fenced /barricaded for safety purpose. Depth of the tank is about 17 Feet approximately . The tank has three major partitions in it. Presently the tank has three openings & two overflow points. Surface of the concealed tank is covered with mud. (Approximately 2 Feet) Alongside the tank, there is a trench inside the premises to drain the leftover water from the tank while cleaning. The trench will lead us to another open tank/pond inside the company premises. SITE VISIT SUMMARY!

27. A rain water storage tank of 24 Million liter storage capacity underground sump, accumulating approximately 1.5 Acres of land has to be cleaned.. Since the tank is huge, we need more openings on the surface of the tank to exhaust the accumulated gases, to remove the sludge & debris from inside the tank, to gain the visibility inside the tank, to allow the cleaning equipment and manpower to inspect the inside condition of the tank. We have to include the rain water flow diversion plan to avoid direct rain water flow to the tank while tank cleaning work is in progress. Necessary electrical points & cleaning water is available. Naturally the site is clear for cleaning vehicle, machinery & manpower movement . SITE VISIT SUMMARY!

30. Advantages & Disadvantages of This Method ADVANTAGES No extra cost than cleaning. No alteration to the exhisting structure. Time saved on altration & curing etc. DISADVANTAGES Very risky, as the tank is huge, there is no natural light, proper access to cleaning. Not futuristic. NOT RECOMENDABLE AND WE CAN NOT TAKE UP THIS JOB !

31. CREATING NECESSARY OPENINGS & CLEANING Creating the extra manholes at the slab above the surface area of the storage tank by Cut & Lift Method. To exhaust the harmful gases. Access to natural light To allow manpower to inspect the inside condition and To extract the sludge & debris from the tank.

32. Advantages & Disadvantages of This Method ADVANTAGES Proper Cleaning Happens. In future it is easy to gain the access to see the inside condition and cleaning. DISADVANTAGES Company has to bear the extra cost than cleaning. Visible change in existing structure. Time consuming. We can take up this job but not recommendable, without rainwater diversion plan in place!

With Extra openings, Stopping the direct rainwater flow to the tank STEP 01: Stop the direct flow of rain water to the storage tank by creating a water flow diversion chamber or any appropriate method. STEP 02: Cut and lift the storage tank surface slab, to allow the cleaning equipment, allow manpower to inspect the inside condition and to remove the harmful gases and debris from the tank.

34. Advantages & Disadvantages of This Method ADVANTAGES Proper Cleaning Happens. Easy to wash & remove debris from the tank. In future it is easy for inspection & cleaning. Safe to work. DISADVANTAGES Company has to bear the extra cost than cleaning. Visible change in existing structure. Time consuming. Temporary inconvenience. This method is recommendable and We can take up this job.

And 25% of the work through manpower like, to remove dry sludge and debris accumulated at the bottom of the tank. It includes activities related to formwork, steel reinforcement, scaffolding, propping/back propping, concreting, and removal of forms, props, scaffolding, and support.

43. Work Procedure for cutting an  RCC sump roof slab 02 - Pre-Work Checks and Approvals Ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained from relevant authorities and consultants . Verify that the concrete design mix, trial mix report, and MEP drawings are approved . Confirm that the sump dimensions comply with approved drawings and design aspects.

44. Work Procedure for cutting an  RCC sump roof slab 03 - Scaffolding / Formwork : Inspect the scaffolding / formwork for damage. Any damaged items should not be used . Submit scaffolding / formwork layout drawings for approval . Obtain approval from authorities before starting the erection of scaffolding / formwork. Ensure the scaffolding / formwork supervisor has relevant documentation for supervision . Obtain a “Certificate of Compliance” after installation, confirming adherence to approved drawings and design aspects.

For circular saws, drill small cores at the corners to avoid over-cutting . Follow safety precautions and wear protective gear during the cutting process.
