eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any
more pain: For the former things have passed
away.” (Revelations 21: 4)
Today, we are called upon to exercise the last
sad privilege that death accords us by returning
the mortal remains of our departed Christiana
Kai Adjei to earth, the cradle from which we
came and the goal to which we are all
hastening,
Christiana Kai Adjei was born at Adidi, in the
Eastern Region of Ghana, on the 12th of July
1949 to Samuel Adjei Ablorh of Nii Okw3njen
Adjei (Kumi we), Agbawe, and Rebecca Adjeley
Sam (AaDennpo) of Atseawe, Akoblem, both of
blessed memory. Christiana Kai Adjei was the
sixth of eight siblings, six girls and two boys.
Her parents lived at Kweiman, a surburb of
Accra, where she had her primary school
education at the Kweiman Presbyterian Primary
School. She then continued with her middle
school education at the St. Bartholomew
Anglican Middle School, Teshie, after her
parents had finally settled in Teshie. She
graduated in the year 1967
After her formal education, Auntie Christie
was moved by passion to venture into fashion
and designing. She worked as a fashion designer
for many years and due to her industrious
nature, she ventured into the business of
selling beverages. Through hardwork, tenacity
and determination, she grew her business
inspite of life’s challenges. Among her
contemporaries, she became famously known as
Auntie Kai “Blue Kiosk”.
Auntie Christie was baptized into the
Kweiman Presbyterian Church, on
the 25th December 1957 when she
was about 8 years old.
Subsequently, she joined the
Teshie Peniel Presbyterian
Church. She went through the
various divisional groups of
the church and finally until
her demise was an ardent
member of the women’s
fellowship.
Auntie Christie, as
affectionately called, was
hardworking, very generous
and welcoming to everyone
she encountered. She was
selfless and her
resourcefulness knew no boundaries.
She was instrumental in family activities
and was always ready to render financial
help to persons who approached her for
same.

On 3rd July 2024, in a rather
sudden twist of fate, death laid its
icy hands on our beloved mother,
sister, friend and confidant. Her loss
was shocking and has rid the family
of a true treasure which can never
be replaced. We are compelled to
mourn her loss however, her
presence will forever be celebrated
at any given opportunity.
Auntie Christie is survived by two
(2) children and thirteen (15)
grandchildren.
Auntie Christie, you will truly be
missed.
Auntie Kai, May the good lord
grant you a peaceful and eternal
rest!!!

Christiana Kai Adjei affectionately called
Auntie Christie joined the 1967 year group
during it’s formative period. Not
withstanding the long distance between
Christie’s house and our meeting place, she
was regular and punctual at all meeting
and other gatherings.
We undertook a project at ABOCHIE
HANYA, and Christie never missed any
working day; she always came early and
left with the artisans. Christie was a woman
of few words but her contributions during
discussions, at our meetings were excellent
and full of wisdom.
Our sister operated a spot called “ BLUE
KIOST”, at Agba We and anytime we
attended a function around her area, we
were sure Christie would take care of us.
We observed at a point in time that our
sister had difficulties attending our
meetings due to a waist problem. The
executive committee therefore exempted
her from attending meetings. She was
however kept abreast with developments.
Individuals visited and occasionally the
group also did.
Barely a week before her home call, our
assistant secretary spoke with her and
there was no indication that she would be
responding to a heavenly call so soon.
In view of her unannounced departure,
we say with the Psalmist “ LORD, TEACH US
TO NUMBER OUR DAYS”

We gather here today to celebrate
and remember the extraordinary life of
our mother, a woman whose strength
and boundless love shaped our lives in
ways words cannot capture. Our
mother faced the world with
unmatched courage and grace. In the
face of adversity she became our rock,
guiding us through the trials of life with
steadfast resolve and an open heart.
Her dedication to us was seen in
everything she did. Despite the
challenges, she worked tirelessly to
provide for us and ensured we had
everything we needed to grow into the
men we are today. She managed to
build a legacy not just in the material sense;
but also in the values and principles she
impacted to us. Her sacrifices were
countless, her efforts relentless and her love
wonderful.
Our mother’s legacy is not just in the
things she left behind but in the countless
moments of wisdom, support and affection
she provided. Her ability to
create beauty and stability in
our lives amid hardship is a
representation of her
remarkable spirit and
enduring love.
Though her passing leaves
a profound void in our hearts,
we find solace in the
knowledge that her spirit lives on in the
memories we cherish and the lessons she
taught us. We will honour her by carrying
forward her values, her strength and her
love in all that we do.
Rest peacefully, dear mother, your love
has been our
guiding light, your
memory will
forever be a source
of inspiration and
strength. We are
eternally grateful
for everything you
gave us and will
carry your legacy
with pride and
love.

who have longed for his appearing”.
Today, we want to honor and
remember a remarkable
woman who touched our
lives in ways words can
scarcely express, our
mother-in-law. From the
moment she entered
our lives, she
embraced us with
kindness and warmth
making us feel like
cherished members of
the family. Her
presence was a
constant
source of
comfort and
support, and
she became like
a second mother
to us.
Her love and care were evident in
everything she did. Whether through
her thoughtful advice, her gentle
encouragement or the countless small
gestures of kindness, she showed us
what it truly means to be loved
unconditionally. She had a unique
way of making every day brighter
and more meaningful, and her
influence will forever be in our
hearts.
As we remember her today, let
us cherish the countless
memories we have of her laugher,
her wisdom and her support. She
leaves behind a legacy of love and
generosity that will continue to
inspire us and remind us of the
incredible person she was.
Though she may no longer be
with us in person, her spirit lives
in the way she touched our lives
and in the love she so freely gave.
We are grateful for every moment
we shared and will carry her
memory with us always.
We will really miss her
constant calls to check on us
especially when our husbands
travelled.

With the help of his angels they flew you
to your heavenly place.”
Sister Kai, we are overwhelmed with
grief as we write this tribute. Life stood
still before us on the morning of 3rd July
2024 when the shocking news was
communicated to us. We were thrown
into a state of confusion and inspite of
your little health challenges which often
comes with age, we did not anticipate
death at a time like this. Sister Kai, the
shock and pain of your death lingers on. It
hurts so much because the previous day
of your passing, you were seen, hale and
hearty, and who would have thought, the
goodbyes said on that day were going to
be the last.
Our Sister, Christiana Kai Adjei was a
gift unto us. She lived her life in humility
and courtesy. Amongst our siblings she
was the non-conformist and the unique
one whose actions differed from the rest
of us. She had a great fashion sense and
oh! Sister Kai would not leave home until
she got the compliment she desired after
dressing up. Her ways amused us.
From our childhood until her demise,
Sister Kai, our sister, had been living in
harmony with us. She was industrious,
selfless and always complimented our
efforts in so many ways. We were held
together by bonds of love, sharing of
mutual experiences and desiring to see
each one of us succeed in our various
ventures.
Sister Kai, your loss is like a missing
piece in the game of life. Certainly, you
were a team player and you therefore
fitted in beautifully amongst us, as well as
in extended family gatherings. In your
quiet, unobstructive way, you provided
the needed support for getting things
done in the family at the right time You
were warm, always looking out for the
welfare of others and ready to help them
to best of your ability. Sister Kai, you have
been a real pillar whose absence would be
deeply felt.
Today, as your mortal remains lay
before us, we pray that may God Almighty
grant you eternal rest into the bosom of
the Lord till God calls us all. We are
comforted by the words in 1
Thessalonians 5;18 which states that
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this
is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Oh, heavenly Father we pray for
strength for these difficult times.
Teach us acceptance of what we
cannot understand.
Teach us understanding of what we
cannot change.
For our lives dear Lord are in your
good hands.
Keep us, comfort us, and surround us
with your presence and love.
