Automated Sentry System C apable of tracking and responding to threats
Problem Statements Man dependent sentry for barracks and ammunition store. Direct face off of our men with infiltrators causing loss of life. Conventional sentry is inefficient in dealing with a great number of intruders. Conventional sentry system can be compromised.
Project Aim In close combat and military training scenarios, automated targeting systems must differentiate between threats and non-threats. This project aims to develop a robotic sentry system that detects, aims, and simulates firing at a red target (foe) while ignoring a green target (friend) and stopping fire if the target is neutralized.
Project Objectives Detect and differentiate between red and green targets. Aim a dummy rifle at the red target using servo motors. Simulate firing with a buzzer when the red target is detected. Stop firing when the target falls. Integrate multiple sensors for accurate positioning.
Components & Sensors Used Arduino Uno – Microcontroller IR Sensors – Red & Green target detection Ultrasonic Sensor (HC-SR04 – Distance measurement MPU6050 – Detects if the target has fallen Servo Motors – Controls aiming mechanism Buzzer – Simulates firing sound LDR Sensor – Detects environmental brightness

Working Mechanism 1. The IR sensors detect - whether the toy is red or green. 2. If a red toy is detected, the servo motors adjust the rifle position. 3. A buzzer - simulates a firing sound. 4. The MPU6050 - sensor checks if the toy is horizontal (fallen) and stops firing. 5. The ultrasonic sensor - ensures correct distance detection. 6. The LDR sensor - helps in adjusting IR sensitivity based on lighting conditions. 7. The servo motors and installed on a pan tilt mechanism that adjusts the position of the dummy rifle and aims at the target.
