1. Automation is the technique of making an apparatus, a process, or a system operate automatically; making the use of various control systems for operating equipment such as machinery, processes in factories, boilers and heat treating ovens, switching on telephone networks, steering and stabilization of ships, aircraft and other applications and vehicles with minimal or reduced human intervention. PLC (Programmable Logic Controll ) Industrial control system or ICS uses automated control devices such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to control industrial processes and machinery in place of labour intervention and dangerous assembly operations. PLC is a digital computer used to control machinery by constantly monitoring input and output devices ; designed for multiple input and output arrangements, and can withstand various temperature ranges, electrical noises, vibrations, and impacts. PLCs control the components in SCADA systems.

3. SCADA ( Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is supervisory control, which controls the smaller subsystems. It consists mainly of process computers and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). SCADA is a system of software and hardware elements that allows industrial organizations to:  Control industrial processes locally or at remote locations  Monitor, gather, and process real-time data  Directly interact with devices such as sensors, valves, pumps, motors, and more through human machine interface (HMI) software  Record events into a log file
