B.F.Skinner Behaviorism Skinner was one of the most important psychologist and behaviorist .He developed Behaviorism theory which views human behaviour as to responses to environmental stimuli.(2019) Retrieved from https://www.britannica.com/biography/Sidney-William-Bijou
* All behavior is caused by a external stimulus . * Behavior is determined by the environment through association or reinforcement . * Behavioral learning theory focuses on the concrete external behavior of an object to their study. * This interprets behavior as a dynamic incentive response .(2014) Retrieved from https://www.slideshare.net/jldejesus7/behaviorist-learning-theories
Skinner thought that we have something like mind, but it's simply more productive to study observed behavior rather than internal mental events. Understanding behavior by looking at the cause of an action and its consequences .(2010) Retrieved from https ://www.slideshare.net/vmedel/skinner-5660892 operant conditioning
*Reinforcement makes the behavior increase. Negative reinforcement is different from Punishment .( Professor Bloom,2008) *Negative Reinforcement makes a behaviour stronger by taking away a negative stimulus. Skinner viewed babies as ‘empty vessels’ which language had to be ‘put in to’. *child learns language through positive reinforcement . Child learns language through positive reinforcement. Skinner explain the development of speech was that parents tend to reward infant vocalisations by giving the infant attention. This increases the frequency of vocalisation.(2019) Retrieved from https://social.ocr.org.uk/files/ocr/Skinner%20languge%20development.doc
* Skinner remarks several times that his analysis of the Fact in terms of stimulus control is an improvement over the traditional formulations . This is simply not true. His analysis is fundamentally the same as the traditional one, though much less Criticisms
Criticisms Chomsky and other critics provided positive and negative critique for this psychology theory and we can summarize them in the following points: Positive critique included: 1.This theory haprocess and most of Skinner`s concerns were in education fields 2. Many universities have recognized his contributions in the subjects of psychology .As a result, he was rewarded for his efforts and achievements 3. He followed the scientific methodological approach in his experiments which produced free contradictions results. some negative critiques were as: 1. Skinner`s results depended on a certain and limited number of experiments . From these experiments he came out with broad generalizations while in fact his cases were considered special and individual 2. The behavioral concepts that Skinner has proved and highlighted are shallow and simple ones, while the more complicated and more behaviors and attitudes received no explanation.
Conclusion In the end we agree to: Skinner's views had a strong impact on education as well as in psychology. We have stated that the goal of psychology is to understand human behavior and the ability to control and predict it later. Skinner focused on controlling human behavior and examining relationships between humans and events and their impact on the environment of the human being. Skinner's theory also states that the process does not require repeated efforts, but it needs a Retrieved from quick reaction to a familiar stimulus .( Elizabeth Grace,2019). http://www.kidsdevelopment.co.uk/bfskinnersbehaviouraltheory.html ————— By: Dr. Abdullah Suleiman Al-Salhi https://www.slideshare.net/alsalhi2008/11-33996578
