A little bit of history... How was the country before it entered the commonwealth? Before it entered in commonwealth it was a British Crown Colony. The Bahamas became an independent  Commonwealth realm  in 1973, retaining  Queen Elizabeth II  as its monarch . When did it enter the commonwealth and why? In 1973 because it becomes an independent retaining queen Elizabeth II. Any other historical events ?

CLIMATE The climate of the Bahamas is tropical savannah climate. There has never been a frost or freeze ever reported in the Bahamas, although every few decades low temperatures can fall into the 3-5 grades. Warm and winterless climate.

FOOD It has a notable culinary variation . Seafood like fish , lobster , crab , conch ... Aswell tropical fruits like pinnaeple also rice , pigeon , potatoes ... Popular seasonings commonly used in dishes include chilies (hot pepper), lime, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, garlic, allspice, cinnamon, rum, and coconut. The cooking in Bahamas is sometimes influencied by American South.

  ECONOMY The Bahamas is a stable, developing nation with an economy heavily dependent on tourism and offshore banking . In the bahamas have a currency that is the: Bahamian dollar (BSD ).

Since December 2000, when the government enacted new regulations on the financial sector, many international businesses have left The Bahamas . However, Manufacturing and agriculture together contributed growth of economy.
