Bailey the Cat Book Written By Basak Serin

Bailey is a cat who works as a library assistant at Tango Public Library and dreams of being a songwriter and poet. He has a strict boss named Angie, a cat who makes his job difficult. His friend Lathan, a cat and music producer, encourages him and often visits after work. Lathan also expresses interest in becoming a library assistant, and Bailey supports this idea.

2. Introduction
Bailey is a white and black cat with green eyes. He wears a
silver bow tie. Bailey has an eartip. He lives in a small
apartment. He doesn’t have a car. He works as a library assistant
at the public library.
Bailey believes his job is fun, relaxing, and quiet; however, his
mean, strict boss, Angie, ruins it for him. He walks to work
every day, as the library is just across the street from his
apartment building.
Bailey has dreams of becoming a songwriter and poet. He writes
songs and poems in his free time. His best friend and music
producer is a cat named Lathan.
Lathan is a black cat with yellow-green eyes. He is cool and
stern. He loves making music. Bailey is his best friend. He
wears a gold bow tie. He lives across from Bailey’s apartment
unit.
Bailey: Hi! I’m Bailey! I work as a library assistant at the public
library! I also write songs and poems. My favorite colors are
black, white, and silver. I write poems and songs to overcome
my stress and my past and present issues. I face challenges daily.
Let’s start the day!

3. Work Day
Bailey works as a library assistant at the Tango Public Library.
He helps the library by putting books back on the shelves; he
organizes the books by genre and alphabetical order; and he
sometimes fixes the computers.
He helps register new users and issue their library cards. He
sorts and reshelves returned books and other materials.
His boss, Angie, makes working there a burden.
Angie is a calico cat with long fur. She has light green eyes. She
wears a copper-colored bow tie. She has an eartip. She is strict,
overbearing, and harsh.
She tends to shout and laugh evilly sometimes. Angie doesn’t
like Bailey or any of her employees, for that matter. She works
as the head librarian. She is an older adult cat. She has a sadistic
nature.
The reason behind Angie’s sadistic nature is because of her
rough life. She was impoverished when she grew up. She had

4. been bullied by her classmates and teachers from preschool until
high school. Even the neighbors bullied her. Also, she stayed in
both foster homes and detention for a few years. She didn’t do
anything bad, only slander. However, she does not know that
Bailey also suffered from the same exact events.
Angie (strict attitude): Oh, hello, Bailey…get to work.
Bailey: Nice to see you, too.
He frowned.
Bailey gets to work by reshelving the returned books. He does a
good job and works very hard.
Angie comes over to him laughing.
Angie: What are you doing? You are supposed to reshelve them
like this!
Bailey: I was doing just that correctly.

5. He said this as he tried to reshelve the books in their proper
places.
She laughed.
Angie: Whatever, I can do better!
Bailey has had enough.
Bailey: Zip it! You only want to make me feel bad. I am only
working, not disturbing—like you!
Angie gets very furious easily.
Angie: Well, I don’t care. Your words don’t matter to me.
Angie rolled her eyes and left.
Bailey got upset.
Then, it was time for Bailey to stack some books on the table for
reorganizing later.

6. Bailey stacked about ten books on the table.
Angie came over to Bailey and knocked the books down. Bailey
was shocked.
Angie: You call that stacking books?!
One of the books hit Bailey’s toe as the books fell down on the
ground!
Bailey: Ouch! My toes!
Bailey cried and was in pain.
Bailey: Why did you do that?!
Angie: I don’t care! Get to work!
Bailey is upset.

7. Later, he went on his break and listened to some music and read
a book at the same time. His headphones are light purple. He sat
at the table in the library.
Angie: What are you listening to?
Bailey took off his headphones.
Bailey: I’m trying to relax…
Angie (shouting): Well, break’s over!
Bailey rolled his eyes and got frustrated.
Later, Angie gathers her staff for work.
Angie (shouting): Bailey! Terrie! You all have to give the new
users new library cards before the library closes! So, in an hour!
Get to it!
Terrie: Got it, loudmouth.

8. Terrie is also a library assistant, like Bailey. He is a senior cat.
He is a dark gray and white tabby cat with light green eyes. He
wears a black bow tie.
He is tired of Angie being his boss, as he has worked with her
for years.
Angie (yelling): What’d you say?! Whatever! GET BACK TO
WORK!
She left and went to her office. The crew rolled their eyes.
Bailey and Terrie got ready to issue library cards to the users.
Terrie issued some new cards to the users.
Terrie: That cat is a pain in the neck! I have worked with her for
years! She is so mean!
Terrie expressed his thoughts as he scanned a library book.
The hard day of work is over.

9. Terrie: Finally! Our workload is over! We have processed over
ten library cards for the day!
Bailey: The weekend’s here! Time to relax!
The library was closing in five minutes, and the crew went over
to their boss, Angie, to report that the work was done.
Bailey came home and relaxed after a hard day of work. His
friend, Lathan, was notified that he had come home and visited
him. He knocked on Bailey’s door.
Bailey: Hi Lathan. Welcome!
Bailey said this and opened the door to let Lathan in.
Lathan: Hi! How was work?
Bailey: I had a rough day!
Lathan: Don’t worry, cat; everything will be in its place.

10. Lathan: Meanwhile, I want to find a new job!
Bailey: You do? Wait a minute! You could apply at the library
and work together with me!
Lathan: Really? Working as a library assistant is a piece of cake!
Lathan: How can I apply?
Bailey: Simple, you can apply online as a library assistant!
Then, I know you will be hired for sure!
Bailey nervously chuckled.
Bailey was in doubt.
Lathan: Ugh, I know about Angie! You told me about her! I still
want that job, though!
Bailey: Sweet!

11. He helped Lathan apply for the job.

13. Bailey’s Fan Mail Questions!
Bailey received some mail from his fans of his poetry and
songwriting. He will record a video about it. So, he gets
ready to record with his camera and begins to read the
mail.
Bailey: I’m Bailey, and today I will be reading fan mail
questions!
Bailey laughed.
Bailey reads the first letter.
Bailey: Okay! Elma the cat writes, “What job would you
have if you weren’t a library assistant?”. Hmmm…I
would be an author. But I like my job as a library
assistant!
Bailey: Next one! Geo the cat asks, “What is your favorite
food?”. Grilled cheese sandwiches.

14. Bailey: Buttons the cat writes, “Bailey, if you could have
any superpower, what would it be?”. I would want flight
and super speed powers.
Bailey: Blair the deer asks, “What is your favorite
chocolate?” Dark chocolate!
Bailey: Lily the cat asks, “Do you like to party or the
peace and quiet?” I like the peace and quiet! I don’t really
like parties.
Bailey: Applesauce the hamster asks, “Would you like to
get to know your boss, Angie, more?” Of course, I would,
but she’s very hard to approach. But, one day, I know
she’ll be nicer!
Bailey: Fawn the deer writes, “What is your favorite kind
of muffin?” Chocolate and plain!
Bailey: Okay! Thanks for all your questions!

gets ready to record with his camera and begins to

He reads the first letter.
Lathan: River the cat writes, “Who is your favorite
musician?”. It’s Midnight the cat! I’m a huge fan of him!
He is a talented music producer and rapper. He is the best
at making hardcore trap music.
Lathan: Okay! Next one! Arthur the cat asks, “What is
your favorite color?”. Dark green, gold, and black.

Bananas, apples, kiwis, oranges, watermelon, well, the list
goes on.     
Lathan: Blaze the cow asks, “Are you more nice or
aggressive?”. Bro! I’m chill, nice, but if you tick me off,
that’s when I get really mad. So don’t get me angry!
Lathan: Aqua the cat, “Do you write songs?”. Yeah, I do!

Yeah! Go reading!
Lathan: Cyan the squirrel writes, “Do you like soda?”.
