Beneficial and Useful mixture
Mixtures can be both beneficial and disadvantageous. When you do not know how to segregate wastes, the mixture that you create may have harmful effect not only on you but on the environment as well. Another very useful mixture that you can easily prepare is a cup of herbal tea. Besides being tasty and warming, a caffeine-free herbal tea has lots of wonderful health benefits. What is a herbal tea? is not really made only from tea, which is a specific kind of plant. Herbal tea is really just an infusion of leaves, seeds, roots or bark extract in hot water.
Ways of preparing herbal teas There are two methods of making herbal teas: INFUSION and DECOCTION. Infusion - is steeping lighter parts of the plant ( leaves, flowers, or light stems) in boiled water for several minutes. Decoction - is boiling tougher parts, such as roots or bark, for a longer period of time.

Each plant is to be administered for a specific condition whether in modern medicine or in traditional medicine. BAYABAS - is a Philippine herbal medicine used as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, antioxidant, hepatoprotection , anti-allergy, antimicrobial, anti- plasmodial,anti -cough, antidiabetic and antigenotoxic in folkloric medicine.
Lagundi ( vitex negundo ) - also known as “five leaved chaste tree” in English. - is used in Philippine herbal medicine to treat cough, colds, and fever. It is also used as a relief for asthma and pharyngitis, rheumatism, dyspepsia, boils, and diarrrhrea . SAMBONG ( Blumea balsamifera ) - English name Ngai camphor - A Philippine herbal medicine used to treat kidney stones, wounds and cuts, rheumatism, diarrhea, spasms, colds and coughs and hypertension.
Tsaang gubat ( Ehretia Microphylla lam) - wild tea in English - A Philippine herbal medicine taken as a tea to treat skin allergies including eczema, scabies, and itchiness and wounds in childbirth. YERBA BUENA ( Clinopodium douglasii ) - is commonly known as peppermint. It is used in Philippine herbal medicine as analgesic to relieve body aches and pain due to rheumatism and gout. It is also Used to treat coughs, colds, and insect bites.
Ginger( luya ) Is another great digestive aid. It is used to curb nausea, vomiting and or upset Stomach due to motion sickness. Fresh ginger tea is made by simmering a piece of ginger root for 10-15 minutes and adding fresh lemon juice and honey. It is a powerful germ-fighting combination for colds. Making tea from powdered ginger is helpful in warding off a chill.
