SYNONYMS: Arushkara Agnimukha veera vriksha shophakrit Agnikha

BOTANICAL DISCRIPTIONS Moderate sized tree Exudes a dark juice Its flowers, fruit and juice are causative factors for agantu shotha ( su ) Fruit –hard, nut like and its acid juice is blackish in colour

Uses: washer men for marking clothes.

CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS NUTS: Bioflavanoids A, B and C tetra hydrobusta flavones Nut shell: Anacardic acid Kernel oil: linoleic, myristic , oleic, palmitic and stearic acids Fruits: Nicotinic acid, riboflavin, t hiamin and essential amino acids

Active principles: semicarpol bhilawanol

PROPERTIES Rasa: katu , tikta , kashaya Guna : laghu , tikshna , snigdha Veerya : ushna Vipaka : Madhura

Karma: kapha-vata hara , vrishya , medhya , deepana bhedana
