Biography of Victor Sheverda
Victor Sheverda is a Construction Project Manager located in the Greater Denver Area, where he
leads a range of commercial construction projects from initial pre-construction planning to final
closeout. With a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and a Project Management
Professional (PMP)® certification, he applies industry-standard practices to ensure each project is
completed on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standards. The PMP® credential
reflects his structured and organized approach, and he blends his formal education with practical
field experience to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
His introduction to the construction industry began with hands-on experience at his family’s
business, which specialized in building custom-spec residential homes. That company utilized
Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction technology, focusing on energy efficiency, structural
durability, and resistance to fire, pests, natural elements, and decay. This early exposure helped
him understand the value of sustainable construction practices. The knowledge gained during
those formative years has influenced his long-term commitment to environmentally responsible
building.
Following several internships during college, he began working full-time in the commercial
construction industry. His career progressed quickly, and he moved into an Assistant Project
Manager role at a leading general contractor in Colorado. In this capacity, he manages
subcontractor relationships, oversees project schedules, monitors costs, and ensures alignment
between project goals and stakeholder needs. His leadership on job sites emphasizes
communication, accountability, and quality across all construction phases.
As a certified project manager, he can manage risk, implement standardized processes, and
introduce improvements as projects evolve. His certification in Agile project management further
supports his ability to adapt to changing conditions. This approach segments large projects into
smaller, manageable phases, providing opportunities for regular feedback, faster problem-solving,
and enhanced collaboration between team members and clients.
Early Life and Education
He spent most of his childhood in Hawaii, where he developed a strong connection to the natural
environment. This connection has remained important to him and is reflected in his professional
values, particularly his advocacy for sustainable construction methods. After relocating to
Colorado, he attended Cherokee Trail High School. There, he maintained a strong academic
performance and participated actively in athletics. He earned four varsity letters in tennis and
qualified three times each for the state and regional championships in the Boys 12–18 5A Tennis
League.
In 2015, he began his university studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, majoring initially in
Civil Engineering. Seeking a more hands-on approach to building, he transferred to Colorado State
University, where he joined the Construction Management program. He completed the program
with a 3.78 GPA and was inducted into the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society. He also made
regular appearances on the Dean’s List, highlighting his dedication and success in his academic
work.
While completing his studies, he participated in three summer internships with a major construction
firm in Denver. These internships offered a practical, on-site experience that complemented his
classroom learning. He contributed to high-profile projects, including Colorado's Market Station and
RidgeGate Campus developments. One of his most notable assignments during this time was his
work on restoring the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. That experience left a
lasting impression on him due to the historical significance of the project and the responsibility
required to maintain the building’s integrity.
Career in Construction
With nearly a decade of combined office and field experience, he continues to develop his skills
and expand his contributions to the construction industry. His work focuses on converting
underutilized or outdated properties into modern, functional commercial spaces. He approaches
each assignment with attention to detail and a commitment to collaboration, aiming to align team
efforts with the client’s goals.
Following his internships, he joined a respected firm as a Project Engineer, where he worked on
the National Western Center Campus Energy project. This included the installation of North
America’s largest sewer-heat recovery system. His performance and attention to detail in that role
led to his advancement to Construction Estimator. In that role, he reviewed subcontractor and
supplier bids, evaluated detailed construction documents, and produced thorough cost estimates
that supported accurate planning and procurement.
In 2022, he accepted the role of Assistant Project Manager. His responsibilities include overseeing
subcontractor scope execution, coordinating procurement schedules, and ensuring all project
elements align with original baseline plans. He is recognized for his thorough documentation and
ability to maintain project progress through well-organized schedules and clear communication.
His contributions help ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that each project proceeds
smoothly from start to finish.
Two of the many projects he has supported stand out as defining achievements. One is his role in
the historical preservation of the U.S. Capitol, where he assisted in maintaining one of the nation’s
most significant buildings. The other is the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC), a
three-story facility encompassing 170,982 square feet. Both projects reflect his ability to work on
technically challenging and high-profile developments, balancing precision with the demands of
large-scale execution.
A Life Adventurist
Outside of construction, he leads an active lifestyle centered around outdoor exploration and
physical fitness. He supports conservation efforts through his involvement with the Rocky Mountain
Elk Foundation and enjoys hiking and mountaineering. He has climbed many of Colorado’s 14,000-
foot peaks and completed challenging trails in Hawaii, Colorado, and New Mexico. These
experiences reflect his appreciation for nature and personal endurance.
He remains dedicated to fitness and discipline through activities such as Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, boxing,
skiing, and weightlifting. His interest in travel often includes visits to places with historical
significance or unique natural features. Whether climbing mountains or managing construction
teams, he brings a focused, disciplined, and resilient mindset to everything he does.
Victor Sheverda continues to advance his career in commercial construction by combining field
experience, structured project management, and a strong belief in sustainability. His steady growth
in the industry, backed by technical training and a thoughtful approach to leadership, allows him to
deliver consistent results. With each project, he remains committed to quality, reliability, and long-
term impact.
