INTRODUCTION
Forests are biodiversity hotspots. Forests are the areas
where most of the species of flora and fauna are found.
Usually, any area with trees can be referred to as forests,
but it isn't necessary that an area has to be populated with
trees for it to be deemed as a forest. An area can be
legally designated as a forest, regardless of the type of
local vegetation found in that particular area. Overall,
forests are the natural habitat of large-scale wildlife,
growth of trees, shrubs, and different variety of plants.

Stakeholders of forests
Basically, a stakeholder is a person who has an interest in a particular business. But in the context of
forests, they can be referred to as the people who:
•People who live around the forest and depend upon the forest resources for sustenance.
•The Government Forest Department, which owns the forest land.
•The industrialists who useforest landfor various industrial purposes.
•The enthusiastsfor the conservation of wildlife and nature.

The people staying in nearby areas use firewood, thatch, and small timber from the
forests. Bamboo is used in making huts, baskets for collecting food and fruit
materials. Forests are also the sites of fishing and hunting. The industries consider
the forest as a source of raw materials for the factories. Industrialists are not at all
concerned about sustainability.
Specific Stakeholders vary between different community forestry projects the
primary stakeholder groups.

Conserving the wildlife
- WE DON'T NEED TO REINVENT THE PLANET;
WE JUST NEED TO REWILD IT..
We should protect wildlife for many reasons; it is integral to
the balance of the nature. We should focus on saving the most
endangered species and also the ecologically, economically and
culturally important ones in the whole world. Ultimately, by
protecting these species, we save this beautiful, vulnerable and
utterly irreplacable planet we call home..!

Ways to conserve wildlife:
•From wild animals to wild places, there's an option for everyone. We can get together with our mates
and adopt a furry companion from any wildlife organization.
• Habitat destruction is the main threat to 85% ofall endangered and threatenedspecies. We can
helpreduce this threatby plantingmore treesor restoring wetlands.
• Whether you are more interested inprotecting natural habitatsor preventingwildlifetrafficking, find
the organization that speaks to your passion.
•Live harmoniously with wild animals around your own home and when visiting public lands.

Management of
forests:
•Forest management is the branch of forestry concerned with overall
administrative, legal, economic, social aspects, as well as scientific
and technical aspects such as silviculture, protection and forest
regulation.

People's
participation
in conserving
forests:
•There are many examples present which suggest that the involvement of local
communities is necessary for any conservation effort:
•Amrita Devi Bishnoi from the Bishnoi community is still remembered for the
way she fought for the Khejri trees in Khejrali village and sacrificed her life
with 363 other people.
•The Chipko Movementbegan in early1980s,The women of Reniin Garhwal
district, began hugging a treeto preventthe cutting of trees by the
contrators.
•In 1972, the forest department realized its mistake while reviving the degraded
sal forests of Arabari forest range.a forest officer; namedA K Banerjee; who
was a real visionary. He involved local people in the revival of 1,272 hectares of
forest. In lieu of that the villagers were given employment in silviculture and
harvest and were given 25% of the harvest
