WHAT IS A BLOCKCHAIN ? Blockchain is a system of recording information in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change , hack or cheat the system.

HISTORY OF BLOCKCHAIN 2008 :- Idea was published under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. 2009 :- Start of a bitcoin network . 2010 :- First cryptocurrency stock is launched . 2011 :- One bitcoin equals one USD

CUTTING OF MIDDLE MAN This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC Eg . Direct transfer of bitcoins .

CENTRALISED LEDGER DISTRIBUTED LEDGER

WORKING OF DISTRIBUTED LEAGER

CONSENSUS ALGORITHM A Consensus Algorithm is a procedure through which all the peers of the blockchain network reach a common agreement about the present state of the Distributed ledger.

APPLICATIONS BANKING HEALTH CARE REAL ESTATE AND IoT SUPPLY CHAIN GOVERNMENT CYBER SECURITY SOCIAL MEDIA AI

FEATURES IMMUTABILITY DECENTRALIZED ENHANCED SECURITY DISTRIBUTED LEDGER CONSENSUS FASTER SETTLEMENT

CHALLENGES The high energy consumption - Bitcoin uses a lot of energy. The scalablity issue - Bitcoin supports far less transactions per second than e.g. VISA. It opens up possibilities for money laundering - Some blockchains as Monero are anonymous. The question remains as to how far we want to bypass the middleman. Often he can also protect us, e.g. a bank can protact us to the extend that we do not transfer the money to the wrong person.

CONCLUSION Blockchain is a shared , replicated ledger . Blockchain can open up business networks by taking out cost , improving efficiencies and increase accessibility . Blockchain addresses an exiciting and topical set of business challanges , which cross every industry .
