Question 01
In a very hilarious anecdote shared by actress ‘X’ in 2022, she mentioned about how people would
come up to her when she was in the US, referring to her as the ‘Y’. She said, “I wasn’t even aware
where it came from. Then my manager told me that this song (Y) is a hit.”
Asked if she really wasn’t aware of the song, she said, “No, I wasn’t aware of the song. They called me
and asked me if I can do this song. Mujhe laga kaun faltu hai. And I told them, don’t call and disturb
me and get lost. I cut the call then. I wasn’t even aware who was _ _ _ _ _ _ (6). How would I know? I
get so many prank calls and I thought someone is pulling a prank on me.”
All this confusion seems to be related to one of her appearances in a very famous 2011 movie song
going by roughly the same name as the new song (released in 2021). Ironically enough the offer
which she denied on the call became one of the most played songs of the year and gained millions
of views on YouTube and the entire scenario ended on a not so sweet note for ‘X’.

Question 03

The film ‘X’ which was supposed to be Karan Johar’s most awaited film of a particular year
was embroiled in controversies before and after its release. This nearly ended up leaving a
mark on his illustrious career as a filmmaker had he not come forward and apologized for
such a farcical script and deviations from what he had originally planned. Adding salt to the
wound was the revelation that the story of ‘X’ had been copied from a 1999 book ‘What the
Body Remembers’ due to its striking plot and character similarities. With such scenarios
encircling the movie, it ended up going down the drain thereby ironically justifying its title ‘X’
amidst the fray.

few days later on the actual day of recording, A couldn't turn up for recording and there was no
choice left. B himself sang the song and impressed everyone around so much that the director of
the movie remarked: this should be the final version as the song was not picturised on any lead

Question 05

The movie X went through a series of titles starting with ‘Taap’, then ‘Raand, Saand, Seedhi,
Sanyasi’, then ‘Duhera’, then ‘ Ud jaayega ’ and ‘ Hans Akela’ and then finally ‘X’. The idea of the
title came from the song by Chhannulal Mishra ji's ‘Khele __ Mein Holi Digambar’.
It was on the sets of the iconic 2012 two-part movie that the director of X and the lead actor Y
met, where both of them were working as assistant directors.

We all know Y today as India’s finest actors but what we might not know is that one of the
most famous and important scenes from the movie was improvised by him where he insisted

closure until the end but Y cried while performing which created a great impact and gave us
the scene.

Question 07

This song was so complex that it had to be sung by the music composer and two singers,
making a total of 3 individuals and employed two languages. The song was meant to be larger
than life and hence one of the singers also performed a practice known as 'Wudu' or 'Wuzu'
before recording it. The division of who is going to sing which part of the song was very
cleverly given to the singers based on the culture they grew up in since they would have a
very good grasp on particular aspects like pronunciation/diction of words in the language. This
song released 12 years back has been hailed as an evergreen classic and some consider it one
of the best compositions of the music director.

Which song? What was the division of the lyrics (which language, sung by whom)?

Question 08

Perhaps being one of the most awaited films of 2022, partly due to its star-studded cast and
partly due to the hype surrounding the movie before its release, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra
received a mixed reception and critical acclaim. Be it either the film’s bleak dialogue at times
or the poor direction, the movie was filled with many such moments. But amidst those
moments of boredom came a moment of pure joy during a scene in the movie which served
as a homecoming for the retro fans, making them gush about this all over the internet. When
asked about why they (referring to the movie-makers) planned it out like that, Ayan replied
that this wasn’t a coincidence and was done as a tribute to one of the first movies (2004) he
worked on much before he became a household name. The creative choice of the
character’s name and profession in question was a very subtle homage to this 2004 movie.

ID what is being talked about.

Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo character name in Brahmastra is a tribute to his character Mohan

Question
___ (2007) was a multi-genre film and is remembered for its script, some very filmy performances
and romantic tracks that are still remembered fondly. The other romantic aspect in the film is when
the heroine gifts our hero, Y, a X. It added a nice touch and its sales reportedly increased after the
film.

However, getting hold of it was a challenge for the director and her team. For X, the makers were in
need of a dancing couple but the X's available in the market featured a bride and a groom and
shipping X from abroad would take too much time. With no alternative, Y went through his then
six-year-old daughter's toys, but the effort proved futile. Finally the team got lucky and the AD
found the 'couple' at Mumbai's famous chor Bazaar.

Question
In an interview on the making of this movie, the director said that, "I was researching a film on
_____ long time back which largely had to do with how they create country weapons which is
what inspired me to include this scene in our film."
But writing the scene was another complicated matter. The local ironsmith in the business of
making these wouldn't talk about his work in front of the camera crew. So the team devised a
plan to get the actor from the movie get into the role and ask the iron-smith about his work
directly on the set with hidden cameras placed. The iron-smith fell for the trick and explained
in detail on how cycle rods made the weapon explode and they should instead use truck pipes.
The actual footage of this conversation made it to the final cut.
