Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Udalguri and Baksa districts of
Assam, India, spans 26.22 square kilometers. Established in 1980, its primary
aim is to protect endangered species such as the hispid hare and pygmy hog.
Bornadi sanctuary is situated at the foothills of the eastern Himalayas, the
sanctuary borders Bhutan to the north. The Bornadi River flows along its western
edge, It is located approximately 30 km from Tangla town and 130 km from
Guwahati, making it accessible for visitors.
Bornadi sanctuary is home to a diverse range of wildlife –
1.Mammals

Mammals found are Pygmy hog, hispid hare, panthers, leopards, deer, and
Himalayan goats.
2. Birds

Birds over 218 species, notably the white-capped water redstart and the red-
