Branches of Science Certainly ! Science is a vast field divided into several branches, each focusing on different aspects of the natural and physical world.
Biological Sciences Biology is the study of living organisms and their interactions with the environment.
This branch has two divisions: Botany and Zoology. Botany is the study of plants and zoology is the study of animals Biological Sciences
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields: Anatomy Cytology Physiology Genetics Taxonomy
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields: Anatomy – deals with the form and structure of organisms.
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields : Cytology – the study of cells and their structure and functions .
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields : Physiology – examines the functions and activities of living matter such as cells, tissues, and organs.
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields : Embryology – tackles the formation and development of an organism from gametes (sex cells to fetus)
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields : Genetics – studies heredity, the ways in which characteristics are passed on from parent (s) to offspring.
Biological Sciences Under these divisions are the following specific fields : Taxonomy – covers classifying, grouping, and naming organisms
Physical Sciences Physical sciences study non-living systems and the fundamental forces and components of the universe .
Physical Science Within this branch are the following specific fields: Physics : The study of matter, energy, and the fundamental forces of nature. It includes areas such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics. Chemistry : Focuses on the composition, structure, properties, and reactions of matter. It has several branches: Organic Chemistry : Studies carbon-containing compounds. Inorganic Chemistry : Deals with minerals and non-carbon compounds. Physical Chemistry : Examines the physical properties and changes of matter. Analytical Chemistry : Focuses on the composition of substances. Astronomy : The study of celestial objects, space, and the universe as a whole.
Other Sciences Developments in the sciences created more specific fields that integrate physics, chemistry, earth science and biology.
Other Sciences Biochemistry Microbiology Ecology
Other Sciences Ecology – the study of the relationships between organisms and their environment.
Other Sciences Biochemistry – studies the chemical composition and reactions within and relating to organisms.
Other Sciences Microbiology – deals with microscopic organisms, such as bacteria and their characteristics and roles in medicine, industries, and agriculture.
