Logo
An important part of the redesign – the Škoda brand’s
new wordmark. It is now the main logo to be used 

in brand communication, generally presented without
the traditional “winged arrow” picturemark.

Symmetrical letters
and angles originating
from the centralised
letter “O”
Compact and connected form through integrated diacritic glyph “S”
Delightful combination of sharp edges and soft roundings
The signature Škoda diacritic glyph (háček) that 
 has always been a part of the logo is now integrated into the letter S – this gives the wordmark a 
 more compact and solid look while still maintaining 
 its linguistic heritage.

Spacing
The variable spacing results in even more flexibility 

and leaves a dynamic impression on the viewer.
For static layouts, we provide three different versions 

of the Škoda wordmark. For moving images, the spacing
is fully flexible up to 160%.

The wordmark’s height defines the clear space and equals
one base unit (BU).
In some cases (e. g. for perimeter advertising in a stadium),
it is necessary or useful to fall below the minimum clear
space. These cases must be individually approved by the
Škoda Brand Communications Team (VMS).

Colour versions

The Škoda logos are mainly used in the two primary
green colours or white, depending on the background.
It is important to ensure a good contrast ratio and
legibility wherever the logo is used. For scenarios such
as brand cooperation, or if the logo is placed on 

non-Škoda media, a black or white version should be
used instead.

The Škoda wordmark can be placed in one of the
corners or can be vertically centered depending on the
composition.
Always take clear space into account when positioning.
When using a centered placement, make sure that the
Škoda wordmark is optically centered. All Škoda layouts
contain a margin dependent on the media format.

In general, the Škoda wordmark can be as large as
possible while taking the clear space into account.
There is only a defined minimum size for some
touchpoints. The most important aspect is the
legibility of the Škoda wordmark and whether it fits
well into the respective layout.

or cropped in any way.
Never reduce the clear space 
 of the logo below 100%. Never distort, tilt, mirror or stretch
the logo in any way.

Never use the S of the Škoda logo 

as supersign.
Never use grey or tertiary colours.The clear space is always invisible and overlaid on the image. The logo must not be illegible – check your contrast ratio.

Logo combinations
If the Škoda wordmark is placed next to a secondary
party logo, the clear space in between contains three
base units each.
The alignment is always centered. Preferably the white
and black version of the wordmark is used.

all the designs. The secondary colours are only used
when there is a need for a more neutral colouring or to
add differentiation, e. g. in information graphics or

Print and Screen Colours
Our brand is developed with a digital first mindset. 

To embody this to the fullest our “Electric Green” 

is chosen as a primary colour to create a modern and
joyful look with a digital feel.
To reproduce this look and feel in print media its 

necessary to use for Electric Green a Pantone spot
colour. If Electric Green is printed in CMYK the colour
cannot develop its full luminosity and effect. See
examples below.

Print Recommendations
In Offset Printing we recommend to always add the
Spot Colour Pantone 7478 to give Electric Green the
required effect. The colour Emerald Green can be
printed by CMYK well.
For Digital Printing it is important to be in contact with
the printer. It is possible to add Spot colours. Some
printers use a seven colour system that shows a higher
colour spectrum.

Our typographic rules are intuitive and straight forward
with a special focus on usability and maximum
responsiveness across all touchpoints.

Casing styles
From headlines to body copy, we create our 

brand text using a mixed casing style of both title case
and sentence case. This approach highlights the 

organic shapes of our Škoda Next font.
On the right you can see some examples of different
text modules.
Headlines, subheadlines, and body text are all written 

in a mixed casing style of title and sentence case,
depending on the content of the text (some uppercase
styles remain for acronyms or abbreviations).

Text sizes
Text sizes in the design can be chosen freely, however,
there are some factors to consider when doing so. 

In general, we recommend a size of 8.5 pt for body text.
The recommended line-height ranges between 105%
and 125% – depending on touchpoint and type size.
Large headlines usually work better with less line-height.
Whereas the body text in ads or presentation slides
require more space for optimum readability.

Type weights
For most layout designs we want to focus on
predominantly using the light-weight Škoda Next font –
especially for body copy and large headlines. This is
because it gives the brand a more elegant and technical
aesthetic – it also works better when combined with
the new wordmark.
It is okay to combine bold and light-weight typography
in one headline to create contrast and further impact,
however, the main consideration should be given toward
the light-weight font above all.

Text colours
In general, typography can be set in four different colours:
Emerald Green, Electric Green, Black, or White.
When choosing a colour, it’s important to maintain a good
level of contrast to ensure the legibility of our text.
For setting bigger amounts of body copy – especially for
print media – we use 100% black.

program by inserting rectangles into a layout frame

dynamic. That is why we don’t use angles thar are too
close to 0°, 45° or 90°.
Make sure that you stay away from these angles 

by at least 10°. The 0°-line needs always to be aligned

You can add up to three facets to one layout. The facets
can either be Electric or Emerald Green.

Stay away from parallels! Keep it balanced! Work with the image!
Don’t box it! Keep integrity of the facets!
Parallel elements make the
layout appear too stiff.
The proportions differ to much. Don’t cover important 
 parts of an image.These shapes give the layout 
 a directional dynamic. Rather keep the proportions 
 more balanced. Try to compensate or take up existing angles in an image.

The Eye Catcher is a label with the same shape as 

the Price Tag but it contains two lines of text. In terms of
colour, sizes and placement, the same rules apply as 

for the price tag. An Eye Catcher contains either a price
and one line of text or two lines of text. The minimum
margin to the border of the label shape is 1/3 of the text
block that is placed inside.

Wordmark
The Škoda wordmark can be placed in one of 

the corners, or vertically centered (taking the clear space
into account).
When using a centered placement, make sure that 

the Škoda wordmark is “optically centered”. The size of
the Škoda wordmark can be chosen freely, however, 

it must be legible. A larger sized wordmark is used for
brand campaigns, while product campaigns use a
smaller sized wordmark.
The wordmark colours can be displayed in Emerald
Green, Electric Green or White.

A simple layout grid is included in the templates,
however, it is possible to adjust it if needed. 

The margin equals the height of the placed wordmark
(= one base unit). Independent from the Škoda
wordmark’s size, we recommend an absolute
minimum margin of 15 mm for all Out of Home
media.
It’s possible to enlarge the margin, if needed. 

The space between columns can be chosen freely
according to your design needs. We recommend

Two types of content
A printed dealer ad normally contains two types of
content: brand content and dealer content.
Compositionally speaking, the areas for these two
types of content are separated by a slope of 4°.
The size of the dealer content area is flexible and can
be adjusted according to the amount of content.
However, the dealer content must not be larger than
50% of the entire composition.Dealer content max. 50 %

Hierarchy of content areas
For portrait formats, the brand content is always
positioned above the dealer content (regardless of
language).
For horizontal formats, the hierarchy follows the
reading direction – with the brand content on the left
side and dealer content on the right side.
Please note: In Arabic, Kurdish, and Hebrew-speaking
countries, you will need to reverse the content order 

for the horizontal format. This is because these scripts are
read from right to left, so please ensure that you place
dealer content on the left and brand content on the right. Dealer content

A simple layout grid is applied to the dealer content area.
The margin equals the height of the placed wordmark 

(= one base unit). The layout grid does not follow the 

4° slope.
Independent from the Škoda wordmark’s size, we
recommend an absolute minimum margin of 5 mm for all
magazine ads to accommodate for print bleed. Of course,
it is always possible to enlarge the margin if needed.
The space between columns can be chosen freely,
according to your design needs. We recommend using
1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 of the layout margin.
Please note: in some cases, it is necessary to increase
the margin towards the fold of the magazine so that no
information gets lost in the centre binding.

Škoda wordmark and dealer logo
The Škoda wordmark is always placed in the top left or
right corner. Only the 100% width Skoda logo is used.
The dealer logo is always placed in the layout grid at the
bottom of the format.
The size of the dealer logo is restricted by the height of
the displayed Škoda wordmark in the ad.

Brand headlines can be placed freely in the layout, as long
as good legibility is always taken into account. The headline
is always left-aligned with a recommended line spacing of
120%. Please only use one main headline size per layout.
The headline’s colour can be Emerald Green or White.

Text in the dealer content area is always left-aligned with a
recommended line spacing of 120 %. Only the marginalia
may disregard the margin. The dealer content area text
must be black or white.
