H R M covers those ethical issues arising around the employer-employee relationship. People are treated based on favoritism or relation to the top management. Now a days due to the changing trend more and more hr professionals are getting involved in ethical issues. Ethics in Human Resource system:

Employment, training or promotion Allowing differences in pay, discipline, promotion (top management relationship) Sex discrimination in promotion, compensation ,recruitment. Sexual harassment. Not maintaining confidentiality. Arrangement with vendors or consulting agencies (for personal gain) Non –performance factors used in appraisals.(personal grudge) Some of the ethical issues in organization:

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL Means evaluating an employee’s current and past performance Its done in order to improve performance standards Affects areas like salary and promotion decision Usually conducted by the management The problems in in the appraisal process is: Unclear standards- ’’outstanding” “good quality” Halo effect -based on the rater’s general impression Central tendency- rating all the employees on a average basis Ethical issues in HRM
