Job Title TB -Clinic Service Provider

Job Summary Provide tuberculosis (TB) prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services in line with the National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP)
guidelines, ensuring quality, client-centered care, and effective community engagement.
Responsibility 1. Clinical Services
Identify, register, and manage TB suspects and confirmed TB cases according to national guidelines.
Conduct sputum collection, smear microscopy, and/or refer samples for GeneXpert or culture testing.
Initiate and monitor anti-TB treatment (DS-TB, DR-TB as applicable).
Provide directly observed therapy (DOT) and ensure adherence support.
Monitor and manage side effects of TB drugs and promptly refer complicated cases.
2. Counseling and Education
Provide pre- and post-test counseling for TB clients.
Educate patients and families on TB prevention, treatment adherence, and infection control.
Counsel clients on HIV testing and ensure linkage to ART services for co-infected clients.
3. Infection Prevention and Control
Implement TB infection prevention and control (IPC) measures at the TB clinic.
Ensure proper ventilation, cough hygiene, and triage of presumptive TB cases.
4. Recording, Reporting, and Monitoring
Maintain accurate and confidential TB registers, treatment cards, and laboratory records.
Collect and compile data for routine TB reports and submit to the health center/HMIS unit.
Monitor treatment outcomes and update the TB register accordingly.
5. Community Engagement and Follow-up
Conduct contact investigation and refer presumptive cases for diagnosis.
Follow up lost-to-follow-up patients through community health workers/HEWs.
Strengthen community awareness on TB prevention and early health-seeking behavior.
6. Teamwork and Capacity Building
Work collaboratively with laboratory, pharmacy, ART, and MCH units for integrated TB/HIV and TB/child health services.
Provide on-the-job training and support to junior staff or health extension workers.
Participate in trainings, mentorship, and supportive supervision programs.

Qualification Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Officer, or related field.
Trained in National TB, TB/HIV, and Leprosy Program guidelines.
Knowledge of TB diagnosis, treatment protocols, and infection prevention.
Good communication, counseling, and data management skills.
Experiance Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in TB, HIV, or general outpatient services.
Prior hands-on experience in TB diagnosis, treatment initiation, and follow-up
Experience in record keeping, reporting, and HMIS tools
Exposure to community-based TB interventions
