WHAT IS CAD? DEFINATION:- CAD is the use of computer systems to assist in the creation, modification, analysis,or optomization of a design. PURPOSE:- To enhance design accuracy, productivity, and efficiency .

HISTORY OF CAD Early Developments:-From manual drafting to early CAD systems. Key Milestones:-Introduction of early CAD software in the 1960s and its evolution to modern applications.

Advantages of cad. Shorter preparation time for drawing. Reduced the man power requirement. Imorove productivity. Minimized transcription error in drawing. Better design can be in evolved. Colours can be used to customize products. Printing can be done to any scale. More efficient operation in drafting .

Disadvantages of cad. Work can be lost because of sudden breakdown of computer. Work is prone to viruses. Work could be easily “hacked’’. Time taking process to know how to operate or run the software. High production or purchasing cost of new systems. Time and cost of training the staff which will work on it.

Modern cad[computer-aided design] AutoCAD:-A versatile and widely used CAD software for 2D and 3D designs. SolidWorks :- Specilized for 3D modeling, particularly useful in engineering and product design. Revit :-Tailored fpr building Information Modeling(BIM),commonly used in architecture and construction. Fusion 360:-An integrated platform offering CAD,CAM & CAE. CATIA:-Know for its advanced surface modeling and complex assembles used in aerospace and automotive industries.
