Audience
From the past five shows I've seen Stars perform at
and through Twitter-based activity, I've noticed the
majority of Stars' audience seems to be made up of
a young to middle-aged adult audience. I think
Stars acknowledges this, as they interact with some
fans via Twitter and they are usually adults.
Favourite Lyrics
“This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin, tried to reach deep but
you couldn't get in.” - Your Ex-lover is Dead (Set Yourself on Fire
2004)
This was the first song I ever heard by Stars, and since then I've
been hooked. These lyrics were so meaningful to me that I got
them tattooed down my thigh. In November 2012 on my birthday I
went to see Stars, and as I was leaving the show I saw Torquil
standing outside the venue. I was too embarrassed to say hello,
but my boyfriend dragged me over anyways, and I told him how
much his music meant to me, and he was very grateful and kind. I
rolled up my leggings to show him my tattoo and got a picture with
him. Hands down, the best birthday of my life.
Stars engages with their fans via twitter,
when I first signed up for twitter, I linked
them to a picture of my tattoo, they
responded saying “We love your love”.
Stars retweets and sometimes replies to
fans, especially before or after a show.
