A slide deck on the power of TikTok

1. Sam Levitt was the first broadcaster to go viral on TikTok. He began posting in early months of the pandemic. His
behind-the-scenes broadcasting content became popular and his end of year sound clip has become popular on
the app. In 2022, Levitt was hired by the San Diego Padres Radio Network as their pregame and postgame host.

2. In 2021, Makena Yee made a TikTok
pitching herself to potential
employers on what she brought as
a candidate. After almost 200,000
views she landed several job offers.
Similarly, Kallie Roberts made a
TikTok video applying to become a
TikTok intern by recreating a scene
from “Legally Blonde.” After he
video blew up, she received offers
from several companies.

3. Addison Rae began her rise on TikTok in 2019. Quickly she went viral
and in less than a year gained over a million followers. She now has
over 88 million followers and is the 5th most followed person on the
app. Her rise on TikTok has landed her roles in the Netflix movie
“She’s all that”

4. Duolingo was already a popular
language learning app prior to the
creation of TikTok. But in the fall of
2021 they rebooted their TikTok to
create more popularized content
using their mascot Duo the owl. By the
following year they had already
amassed five million followers and
were seeing an increase in signups
from people coming directly from TikTok.
