A.Remove the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab - Remove".
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair
of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers
before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop
Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain
fluids on Caterpillar products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

3. Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for
installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this
helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
1.Drain the oil tank for the hydrostatic drive into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and
Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill" for the capacity of the tank.

5.Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to tank assembly (2). Remove bolts (8), the
washers, and the mounting from tank assembly (2). Remove bolts (9), the washers, and the
mounting from tank assembly (2). Remove bolts (11), the washers, and the mounting from
tank assembly (2). Disconnect harness assembly (10) from the bottom of tank assembly (2) .
6.Remove tank assembly (2) from the machine. The weight of tank assembly (2) is
approximately 34 kg (75 lb).

A.Remove the hydraulic drive pumps. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Drive
Pump - Remove".
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube
assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps
to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
