Your Expectations Drive You Expectations may be positive or negative. Anticipating whatʼs coming helps give you a sense of control.
Surprise Destabilizes! Being surprised disrupts your equilibrium & sense of control.

Why You Resist Change Fear of the unknown. Perceived loss of power. Fear of looking incompetent. Donʼt see whatʼs in it for me. Low risk- taking disposition.
How You Show Resistance Disagree with the plan. Criticize the plan to others. Donʼt implement. Argue with others. Shut down & withdraw.
Be ready for resistance, whether you view change as positive or negative.
