about the topic “Coal and coal products” from the unit
“coal and petroleum”.
Coal And coal products:
Coal is presented as exhaustible fossil fuels formed from
the compressed remains of ancient plants over millions of
years.
▶ It is hard as stone and is black in colour.
▶ Coal is one of the fuels used to cook food.
▶ It was used in railway engines to produce steam to run the
engines.
▶ It is also used in thermal power plants to
produce electricity.
▶ Coal is also used as a fuel in various industries.
