COLOR ME
What are the colors found in the rainbow? Why do you think the red color appears to be on top of the rainbow and violet at the bottom? Do you have any idea how the rainbow is formed?
Describe what is dispersion of light. Draw and color the beam of light when it passes through the prism. Justify and give scientific explanations about the natural phenomena in the environment Learning Objectives

SPIN Presentation of Outputs
Group 1 1. What colors will be produced when the white light passes through the prism?
Group 2 2. Why does the white light separate into different colors as it passes through the prism?
SPIN
ANSWER As light passes through the prism, it slows and bends, but different wavelengths bend at different angles. This separates light into different wavelengths , forming a rainbow of colors.
Group 3 3. Why does the color red is on top of the rainbow and violet is at the bottom?
SPIN
ANSWER Red is found on top of the rainbow because it has the lowest frequency and the least energy while violet has the highest frequency and energy that is why it is found at the bottom of the rainbow
Group 4 4. What is dispersion of light?
SPIN
ANSWER Ito ang paghihiwalay ng mga components ng visible light sa spectrum nito dahil sa pagkakaiba-iba ng kanilang degrees of refraction
Group 1 5. What is refraction of light?
SPIN
ANSWER Ito ang pagbend ng light dahil sa pagkakaiba ng optical density ng mga medium
Group 2 6. What is scattering of light?
SPIN
ANSWER When sunlight enters the atmosphere of the earth, the atoms and molecules of different gases present in the air absorb the light. Then these atoms re-emit light in all directions
Group 3 7. Why do you think is color green is in the middle of yellow and blue?
SPIN
ANSWER When we combine color yellow and blue, the resulting color is green
Group 4 8.If we combine color red and yellow, what will be the resulting color?
SPIN
ANSWER Orange
ANSWER Rainbows are formed when light from the sun is scattered by water droplets through a process called refraction. Refraction occurs when the light from the sun changes direction when passing through a medium denser than air, such as raindrop.Once the refracted light enters the raindrop, it is reflected back and will disperse splitting into 7 different colors.
A secondary rainbow appears if the sunlight is reflected twice inside the water droplets. Secondary rainbows are fainter, and the order of the color is reversed, with red on the bottom.
ANSWER Gases and particles in Earth’s atmosphere scatter sunlight in all directions. Blue light is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.
ANSWER Bigger water particles like water droplets within the cloud scatter all wavelengths, the scattered light interacts and combines to generate a white color.
ANSWER We see color green on the leaves of plants, because only the wavelength of light that corresponds to green is being reflected back into out eyes from the leaf, while all of the other wavelengths of light are absorbed by it. This is due to the presence of chlorophyll within the leaf, which absorbs all wavelengths of light on the visible spectrum, except green light waves
