Practices adapted in yala, 2020 When low intensity of rainfall expected farmers were informend to - Cultivate short duration, drought resistant paddy varieties. - Dry sowing in paddy cultivation - Use mulching materials and apply Bio-Char inorder to retain soil moisture - Alternate drying and wetting in paddy cultivation for the efficient water utilization - Follow Folier application of nutrients. - Use micro irrigation techniques.
When High intensity of rainfall expected farmers were informend to - Improve field drainage in order to remove excess moisture - Cultivate on beds or in ridges
Shortfalls during Yala 2020 Less printed materials issued to Dept. of Agriculture. Less number of meetings, gathering due to COVID 19 situation It was not able to cover whole farmers in each range.
