Italy

WATER WOES

The 2022 drought in northern Italy alone caused as much as€6 billion ($6.5 billion US) in agricultural damage

some areas of Italy have experienced deadly flooding at the same time thatothers have remained parched.

Approximately
89% of the habitats of community interest are in an unfavorable state of
conservation.
Of the 43 Italian forest habitats, for example, 5 have a "critically threatened"
conservation status and
12 "endangered".
68% of Italian ecosystems are in danger,
35% in critical danger. 100% of
ecosystems are at risk in the Po Valley ecoregion,
92% in the Adriatic one
and 82% in the Tyrrhenian one
. 57% of rivers and
80% of lakes are in a poor ecological state.
And the data on the conservation status of species is no less alarming: 30% of
vertebrate animal species and 25% of marine animal species in the
Mediterranean are at risk of extinction.

UNDIFFERENTIATED
WASTE
Is thishelping?
Do weknowhowto makea difference?
In Italy50% of (notconsidered
dangerous) wasteisrecycled.

MARINE POLLUTION
AND OVERFISHING
Overfishing and water pollution are
two critical environmental issues
that have significant implications
for Italy's marine ecosystems,
biodiversity, and fishing industry.
As one of the Mediterranean's most
developed coastal countries, Italy
is heavily impacted by these
problems, which threaten both the
marine environment and the
livelihoods of communities that
depend on fishing.

GRYCLE
WHAT IS IT? Grycle is a machine that turns undifferentiated
waste into raw material granules that are automatically separated
and ready for reuse.
DEVELOPED BY an italian team.
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT?
It regenerates 100% of waste -> we would not waste the raw
materials that make them up.
Grycle is equipped with an artificial intelligence module that
enables it to progressively learn to recognize new materials.
Grycle will be a self-sufficient, photovoltaic-powered
machine.

DOES GRYCLE REALY
HELP? NO.
Indifferentiated waste can be:
- Burnt
- Buried
-Dispersed (shipped on boats and then sinked, ecc…)
THE ORGANIZED CRIMINALITY DOMINATE IT
