3. Requirements for examining anemia Examination gloves Hand washing equipment Hand towel Waste bin

4. Procedure for examining anemia Creates rapport and explains the procedure to the patient Wash hands and dry with towel Put on gloves Positions the patient in upright sitting position Pulls the eyelids down, tells the patient to look up and observe the conjunctiva Without removing hands, tell the patient to move out the tongue and observe for pallor Hold the patients hands and inspect the palm for pallor Observe the nail beds for pallor and make a pinch to see the capillary refill Hold the patients feet, observe for pallor and make a pinch to see the capillary refill Remove and dispose gloves properly, thanks and inform the patient about the findings
