English as a foreign language (EFL) teaching practices in addressing intercultural
communication objectives in Vietnam. Although the current Vietnamese foreign
language education policy advocates the intercultural communication aims,
intercultural language teaching and learning has not yet been applied in foreign
language classrooms. The findings from interviews, class observations and document
analysis show that foreign language teachers mainly focus on developing learners
linguistic performance rather than their intercultural competence because current
policy statements about pedagogies and content of intercultural language teaching
have not been explicitly expressed and communicated to foreign language teachers.
The author suggests a bottom up policy making process in which policy makers and
language teachers should both involve in addressing the pedagogy of intercultural

Women in Canterbury Tales During the Medieval time period that Canterbury
Tales was written in, there was a general depiction of women that they weren t
even looked at as humans, but looked at as objects. Women were thought of as
weak, untrustworthy, and even less intelligent beings than men. Chaucer did not
necessarily agree with the general consensus of women during the time period.
Now there are tales that go along with the general impression of women, but there
are also signs that Chaucer looked at women for what they really are and he might
have saw them as equal beings. Chaucer was a great mind and that mind was far
past his time, as he went against the tide when he wrote and he was not afraid to
write whatever came to his head. Canterbury tales can show us what women had to
go through in medieval times, and through Chaucer s tales we can see what he
thought of how women were were perceived and treated.
The only two women most significant and described in detail in The Canterbury Tales

Hiv And The Human Immunodeficiency Virus Essay
. Introduction HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is able to integrate its genome
into the host cell genome during infection (Ebina, Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi,
2013). This can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) if it is left
untreated. AIDS is caused by a very efficient and sneaky retrovirus. HIVcan remain
dormant for years once its DNAis in the genome of the host cells. The CRISPR/Cas9
(clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) are segments of
prokaryotic DNA containing short repetitions of base sequences. Cas9 was the first
nuclease discovered. The focus of the CRISPR/Cas9 is to target a particular disease
causing geneand remove it.
II. CRISPR/Cas9 with HIV cell lines HIV infects CD4 + T cells. The viral particles
of HIV keep their genetic information stored as double stranded RNA. They use a
reverse transcriptase that converts their genome into double stranded DNA (Edina,
Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi, 2013). During this process the virus can mutate
quickly because many errors occur in the HIV genome. The DNA is inserted into the
host cell genome by integrases which use LTR (long terminal repeat) sequences on
the viral genome to integrate with the host DNA (Ebina, Misawa, Kanemura,
Koyanagi, 2013). This results in a provirus that can continuously produce new viruses
that infect other immune cells. Doctors can mix different antiretroviral drugs to help
with HIV, but once you stop the treatment the virus

The Importance Of Teaching A Past Lesson
One of the greatest aspects of teaching is having the opportunity to engage with
students. Engaging in the practice requires that teachers are constantly reflecting and
wondering how they can better enhance their performance. This is often done through
reflecting on past lessons as well as actively seeking appropriate leadership roles and
opportunities. Effective teachers are master reflectors who always understand how
their actions contribute to the success of their students, their families and their
communities. Effective teachers are also sure that they are using their reflectionsand
new knowledge to inform their practice. In addition to reflecting on their own
practice, new teachers are always reading to collaborate with superiors or colleagues
in order to gain new and innovative information.
My first piece of evidence I have included for Standard 9 is an analysis of a past
lesson. In the analysis, I carefully reflect on the effects my choices and actions in the
classroom have impacted my students. Despite how passionately teachers may feel
about engaging with students, it is important that we are constantly wondering how
we can improve our performance in the classroom. Little that happens in the
classroom happens for no reason. Constant reflection allows for teachers and students
alike to understand how classroom interactions can become more meaningful. In

Mills main purpose for this essay was to base it on a principle: Actions are right in
proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to produce the
absence of pain. He explains that some pleasures are higher than others. Mill
means when he says It is better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a swine satisfied
that a person must choose higher pleasures to be happy, I can say that I do agree
with his claim based on my own personal experiences. Mill defines the Greatest
Happiness Principle to be the presence of pleasure and the absence of pain. He then
goes on to say that pleasures are a qualitative distinction and not all pleasures are
equal. Examples of higher pleasures can be wealth, religion, and education. These

The Aviation Branch Of The U.s. Army
The Aviation Branch of the U.S. Army, as we know it today, did not exist at the turn
of the 1800 to 1900 centuries. The military did use a Balloon Corps and Detachment
for the Civil and Spanish American Wars respectfully. However, the Army
deactivated both organizations after their usage in the campaigns. These artillery
spotters and reconnoiters were helpful. However, the leadership did not see a usage
for them outside of war. Therefore, it would take someone understanding the
potential of air power to open a door for its peacetime usage. This occurred with the
birth of the Signal Corps.
The U.S. Army Signal Corps On July 1, 1891, congress established the U.S. Army
Signal Corps (Layman and Mooney, 1944, p. 2). Understanding the use of balloons
in prior wars, the Chief of the Signal Corps felt aviation was an activity that should
fall in his corps realm and he petitioned for congressional concurrence. The only
issue was congress would make no such acknowledgement. As early as 1892, the
Signal Corps began purchasing balloons (Fredriksen, 2011, p. 1). BG Gully and his
successor as the Chief of the Signal Corps, BG Allen, kept providing reports on the
significance of aviation operations to the military. Initially the gentlemen envisioned a
means to communicate being greatly enhanced. Two inventions at the turn of the
century would contribute to these beliefs but also make it hard for them to plead their
