kinds of malware.

programme .
◦Viruses attaches its self to files or software, spreads to
other systems and cause damage.

▪ Replication-Ability to copy itself and spread
▪ Activation- Becomes active when a user runs an
infected file
▪ Damage- can delete, corrupt, or steal data
▪ Concealment-Hides inside files to avoid detection

▪ File infected virus-Attaches to executable files
▪ Boot Sector Virus-Infect the system startup process.
▪ Macro virus-spread through word excel and other documents.
▪ Ransomware-Locks Files and demands payment for access.

designed to secretly monitor users computer
◦Collect information with out their consent
◦Work silently in the background
◦Collect personal and financial data
◦Tracks browsing history key strokes and online
activities
◦Bundle with free downloads and fake software

8. Trojan
oDisguised as legitimate software , a trojan pretend to
be useful or safe programme.
oTrojan do not replicate themselves but relay on users
to download and run them.
oTrojan creates secret entry point in the system but
allow hackers to remotely control the infected device.
oIt also spread through emails, downloads or fake
apps.
