Welcome Turbine Maintenance, Sipat

Location Management Instruction on INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF CONDENSER ON LOAD TUBE CLEANING SYSTEM (COLTCS) Turbine Maintenance,Sipat

Brief about LMI

Introduction

Review and Responsibility REVIEW HOD (TMD) shall be responsible for implementation of this LMI Responsibility   The Head of the project, will review this LMI on a 2-yearly basis, or as and when necessary.

Introduction Condenser tubes get fouled leading to reduced heat transfer and thus required to be cleaned to reduce back pressure on the turbine.

Requirements (Checks)

Inspection and maintenance of Collecting screens. Inspection & Maintenance: - Operation of both screens with actuators. Lubrication/Greasing of worm Gears. Check screen to shell gap throughout the screen (in closed condition). Checking & adjustment of limit setting of actuators in screen full open and close condition. Physical marking of screen open & Close condition to check the position in running condition Inspection & cleaning of Extraction arm (ball collecting area). Back washing of extraction pipelines from pump suction.

Inspection & Maintenance:- The Cleaning Balls should be stored carefully in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Extremes of temperature should be avoided. Normally the Cleaning Balls should be stored in the boxes in which these are supplied, to prevent deformation of the balls. If the balls are removed from the box these should be stored loosely. After charging the cleaning balls into the ball collector, they should be held under water and squeezed two or three times to expel entrapped air Monitoring of ball size is utmost important for effective cleaning. Every week, all balls should be inspected, and size should be determined with help of GO- NoGO gauge. Balls with reduced size (Less than 0.5 mm with tube ID) should be replaced with new ball. The used balls should always be kept in the water. Inspection and maintenance of Cleaning balls. * For stainless steel, titanium tubes * RB scouring balls for removal of bio fouled layers * RG for removing highly adherent bio - fouled layers
