Controversial Essay Topics
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Controversial Essay Topics" can be both intellectually
stimulating and challenging. The difficulty lies in navigating the delicate balance between
presenting diverse viewpoints while maintaining a coherent and well-structured argument. The
nature of controversial topics often entails dealing with sensitive issues that evoke strong
emotions, making it imperative to approach the subject matter with a high degree of sensitivity
and respect for differing opinions.
Researching and gathering credible sources to support your arguments becomes a formidable
task, as controversial topics often involve a multitude of perspectives. It requires a meticulous
examination of various viewpoints, expert opinions, and empirical evidence to ensure the essay is
well-informed and substantiated.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to maintain objectivity throughout the essay. Striking
a balance between presenting a compelling case for your standpoint while acknowledging
opposing views can be a tightrope walk. Navigating through potential biases and avoiding the
trap of presenting a one-sided argument is essential for a well-rounded and persuasive essay.
Furthermore, crafting a captivating introduction that grabs the reader's attention without
oversimplifying or sensationalizing the topic adds another layer of complexity. The conclusion
should not only summarize the key points but also leave the reader with a thoughtful reflection
on the intricacies of the controversial subject.
In conclusion, composing an essay on controversial topics demands meticulous research, a
nuanced understanding of diverse perspectives, and the ability to present a well-structured and
balanced argument. It's a task that requires not only strong writing skills but also empathy and
critical thinking. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any academic writing
challenges, resources like HelpWriting.net can provide valuable support and guidance.

Essay on Toni Morrison s Beloved
How We Define Ourselves in Beloved
The idea of how we define ourselves is a topic that has much force in the novel
Beloved by Toni Morrison. Two of the characters in the novel have strongly
opposite ideas of defining their own selves . Baby Suggs displays a very healthy
sense of self, completely based on only who she is as a person, and not relying on
any other person to assist her in her definition. She is an independent person and
loves her own self greatly. Sethe, on the other hand, has an unhealthy sense of self
because who she is is strongly dependent on her interactions and relationships with
her children.

In addition, they too have been growing and learning in their own environment with
different family members influences. Each of our own influences, in turn,
influences others. From there, we again take in and learn what we can so we can
make our own decisions on how to define our selves . Later, society influences our
thoughts on who we are as people and our relation to the world as a whole. There is
a constant norm that people try to assimilate to or diverge from. Society presents
its own ideas of who we should be as people, and it is then our own job to take that
information and do what we will with it to make our own definition for ourselves
of who we are. Two things can happen when we are required to base our definition
of self on others. One can take others ways of living and thinking, process them, and
formulate his or her own definition, independent of anyone else. Or, one can use the
relationships he or she has with other people on which to base their own definition of
self, thus making him or her dependent on those other people. As young people, we
learn and take in all we can through the world, our experiences, and relationships with
other people. From there, we grow and establish our own identities, our own selves ,
in response to those interactions with others. This definition is continually growing
and progressing as we evolve as people, interacting with different people in different
environments and

Ethics and Management of Wal-Mart
Abstract Standards, values, morals and ethics have become increasingly complex in
a postmodern society where absolutes have given way to tolerance and ambiguity.
This particularly affects managers in Human Resources, where decisions will affect
people s jobs and their future employment. This paper will look at the history of
Wal Mart and it will glance at the management style and Ethics of Wal Mart towards

Influence of Cultures on The Thousand and One Nights
Essay...
Stories like Sindbad, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp and other popular stories are
very common today in the western culture. Animated movies were also made for the
entertainment of kids on these popular stories. One might wonder that where these
stories originated and how it came down and made place in the western culture.
Although these stories are very popular in both the western culture and the eastern
culture but the original literary work is not so popular in common people. Theses
stories are some of the stories from the Arabic work The Thousand and One Nights.

The same is claimed by Goitein as he says that the first element in the tile of
popular book: В‘One Thousand Nights is very old, as it is an adaptation of the
Persian hezar efsane, which means В‘A Thousand Stories, according to various
Muslim writers the name of a pre Islamic collection of tales and fables. (301 02) W.
F. Kirby states while reviewing the work that Our first reference to The Thousand
and One Nights by name dates back to the work of Masoudi in the tenth century
where it is said to be based on a Persian work. (112 24) All of these authors date
back the work to the same era. Although the time period it was originated has been a
topic of study but the author of the work is unknown and not talked about by any of
these reviewers.
The title of this work has a history also, that how it is called The Thousand and One
Nights. As the work was and adaptation of the Persian hezar efsane which literally
means В‘thousand stories , it got its name of Alf Laila. (Youssef) This title was
changed to The Thousand and One Nights later as Goitein discusses:
A marginal note in a fragmentary manuscript of the Fihrist states that the book was
called One Thousand and One Nights see D. B. Macdonald, ib., p. 367. However,
unless new evidence is forthcoming, it stands to reason that the two tenth century
authors actually spoke of a book of One Thousand Nights, a

Glycemic Index
The glycemic index is a good measure of how carbohydrate containing food affects a
person s blood glucose levels. In was originally introduced in 1981. The general
rule for Glycemic index is that low glycemic index food was digested and absorbed
slowly and high glycemic index food are rapidly digested and absorbed. These two
factors result in different glycemic responses from the body (Sun, O Reilly, Li, and
Wong, 2013, p. 1001). It is because of these reactions that many people have become
interested in seeing how the different glycemic index of foodwill help athletes during
exercise. One of the main ways people use the glycemic index for exercise is in their
pre exercise food (Sun, O Reilly, Li, and Wong, 2013, p. 1001). Using the glycemic...

When doing this, they must result in their endurance to get them through the
exercise. While, yes, there are sports that do not necessary need a lot of endurance
for, but in training most sports last long enough that you do need some endurance.
It is still beneficial to allow you to have some form of energy to be able to use
while exercising. If someone wants to be a good athlete their ability to sustain
prolonged submaximal exercise is primarily determined by fuel availability
(Wong, Siu, Lok, Chen, Morris, Lam, 2008, p. 23). The need to allow your body to
be able to perform at its greatest level all comes down to how you fuel it. When
fuels with foods of a low glycemic index, it is able to store the energy and slowly
use it throughout the workout instead of being wasted in the first five minutes. It
has been shown time and time again that the offer modest post prandial
insulinaemic and glycaemic responses over high GI foods when consumed before
prolonged submaximal exercise (Wong, Siu, Lok, Chen, Morris, Lam, 2008, p. 23).
This is exactly why when athletes are trying to plan what to eat right before they are
about to workout they should look for foods that have a low glycemic index. By
doing this, they are setting themselves up for having high energy for their workout
and being able to have energy that energy last longer during their

Teen Violence Research Paper
Recently Video games have been to blame for many of the incidents among teen
violence. Anti game activists are quick to blame video games for teen violence. If
video games are the reason for violence then why it is that video game sales have
quadrupled while violent juvenile crime in the United States has declined by over
71.8%. I am of the opinion that video games are not to blame for teen violence, but
that it has been made a common excuse over the years. In reality people, more so
parents are just trying to find something to blame for kid s actions instead of taking
personal inventory of themselves, and the way they are raising their children.
According to the article, Do violent video games contribute to youth violence? In
2005 a law was passed making violent video game sales to have a mandatory 18
label and the sale of these video games to minors wad also criminalized. Therefore
society has been doing its part to reduce the amount of violence exposed to
children. From there it is the parent s responsibility to keep these games out of
reach from kids. Not to say, kids are smart. They know how to steal, and get ahold
of things they are not supposed to have, but does that mean just because they are
accessible to it they are going to play a video game they are going to contribute to a
school shooting? Or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They start to pick up on these things and translate into real world performance. This
teaches kids that when they feel angry it is okay to do violent things because in
video games this behavior is rewarded. This is where mental illness comes into place.
When children have the inability to decipher reality from fantasy they begin to act on
things that a functioning brain wouldn t. These things are all valid points in terms of
teenagers contributing to teen

Event Planning and Writing
Writers Profile Two:
Taking the Write Path to Plan
Lesley Gore once sang the infamous song lyrics Its My Party and I ll Cry if I Want
To , and when I hear this song I often find myself wondering, why would you ever
want to cry at a party? The reason behind this feeling is because I am currently on a
journey to achieve my goal of being an Event Planner, and with the mind set of an
Event Planner; I truly would not want anyone crying at their party. For the past couple
of years I have struggled with what career I wanted to pursue. I tried the teaching

After she named several types of writings that Event Planners utilize, I asked for
specificity about three different writing styles that she uses the most, or that have
the most significance. She proclaimed In my opinion I would say invitations,
agendas, and client information is the most important. The invitation with any
event really sets the tone and it informs your guests on the date, time, place and
hosts of the event. Oh, and you really have to keep in mind that things like design,
wording, tradition, and etiquette are important because they really explain what
type of affair your holding, from casual to a black tie affair, an invitations hold all
the information. After a few more details on invitations she carried on telling me
about agendas. With any event, literally any event, I always have an agenda. This
helps my day run smoothly. Its like a fine tuned machine, things have to happen at
a certain time and with an agenda or schedule it helps me execute the perfect event.
I can tell the bride when to leave for the church, or the president of the company to
make his speech, and this makes my job easier and more organized. Also with
agendas I find that it helps guest prepare for the event as well, it gives them an idea
of what to expect. This type of information made me realize the importance of
organization for this type of job and having an

Ukraine And The Russian Ukrainian Conflict
The breadbasket of Eastern Europe is having a problem with militants who have
killed and have tortured hundreds of people in the name of freedom. The militants,
Pro Russian rebels native to Ukraine, believe that their actions against the government
are just. Those who believe that the Pro Russian Ukrainian rebels are fighting against
a corrupt, ultranationalist government are right. The Ukrainian citizens need to
understand, however, that the government of Ukraine is the lesser of two evils; the
rebels have committed many more heinous crimes than the government has. The
rebels are also against policies that can benefit all of Europe and Ukraine. Currently,
the Ukrainian people seek to have a stable nation with a self sufficient government...

Unlike the rest of Ukraine, Eastern Ukrainians have received more of a cultural and
linguistic influence from Russia. The Ukrainian people are descended from the
nomadic, free Cossacks. The Cossacks neither loved the tsar not the [Polish] lord
and were a people totally separate from the Russians and Polish (Magosci 19). The
roots of Russia and Ukraine reveal that the name Russia is derived from the word
Kievian Rus. The Kievian Rus were Ukrainian people who had established Kiev, the
capital of the ancient Russian state (ExpatRu). The name Russia was eventually
adopted by Peter the Great many years later. The Russian speaking Ukrainians have
been influenced a lot by Russian culture; they have adopted the language due to the
constant transfer of power between Russia (including the USSR) and other countries.
Due to the lack of this knowledge, the rebels have successfully manipulated the minds
of the Russian speaking citizens into thinking they are ethnic Russians. The support
the rebels show toward Russia has given them protection; Russia already seeks to
expand its territory, so they completely support anything the rebels do. Historically,
Ukrainians and many western Russians are Ukrainian; the arrogance the rebels have

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Heart Disease
Heart disease is common among dogs almost as common as it is in humans. If you
own a dog, and you have some concerns about your dog s health, it is important to
understand what type of heart disease complications your dog may experience,
especially in response to infection, illness, diet, and lack of exercise. For many dogs
the symptoms and complications of heart disease are similar to what you would
expect to see in human symptoms. Heart disease in dogs can be attributed to
congenital complications as well. Typically, when your dog is young, you will
want to have your dog evaluated to determine if there are any congenital
complications that may pre dispose your dog to heart complications early in life.
When compounded by heart disease development, due to poor diet or other
infections, your dog will typically show signs of poor tolerance for exercise, have
some swelling around the stomach and may even show signs of weight loss.
When evaluated, your dog s veterinarian is going to listen for the presence of a
gallop heart sound which is indicative of swelling in and around the heart. The
gallop heart sound will be a sound that is similar to a third heart beat or echo and
can typically only be heard with a stethoscope. Heart murmurs in dogs are also quite
common and while they can, to some extent, be corrected with surgery, most dogs
will live a long time with heart murmur. But, when heart disease is a concern, you
will want to address the heart murmur issues as well.

Lord Tennyson s The Charge Of The Light Brigade
What makes a soldier? A soldier is someone who takes commands from higher
authorities, who can take on any obstacle that may come their way. A soldier has to
be brave, strong willed, hardworking, and nevertheless willing to die for what they
believe in. In The Charge of the Light Brigade , Lord Alfred Tennyson created a
masterpiece of a poem by reliving the events that happened during the Light Brigade s
charge. Lord AlfredTennyson conveys that the Light Brigade stood firm through their
rigorous battle. During the Crimean War, the Light Brigade was going into battle
against Russia. Lord Tennyson states, Half a league, half a league, / Half a league
onward, / All in the valley of Death / Rode the six hundred (Tennyson lines 1 4).
The Light Brigade kept on riding even though they knew what was to eventually
happen. As the war was going on, the Russians apprehended a supply of guns that
had originally been for the British. For instance, Arnold Markley states, From a point
high above Sebastopol, British leader Lord Raglan observed the Russians removing
artillery from captured posts on the Vorontsov heights and sent an order to Lord
Lucan that the Light... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was the man that the Light Brigade depended on to make right decisions and to
know the information of what is to come. With the mistake of taking the six
hundred men into the valley of Death the leader let the men down (Tennyson line
16). These men knew nothing of what was to come that day. Because of the lack of
communication between the British armies, the six hundred men walked right into
the Russian military. Lord Tennyson states, someone had blundered / Theirs but to
do and die (Tennyson lines 12 and 15). The leader of the six hundred men was the
one who blundered and got almost half of his army killed off. Without the right
information, the leader was not able to do his job and lead his men to

The And The World Wide Web
In chapter 11, the author of our text says, in part: Learning what is true and what is
not true is harder today than it once was. The difficulty is not because of a lack of
information. We have more information and more points of view available to us
than ever in history. A few clicks on any topic and you get thousands of entries. In
fact, perhaps we get too much information. We get so much that we are often
overwhelmed.... A second problem today is that we should not necessarily believe
what we see or hear. He also says: Our political culture teaches us to learn to be
ignorant about politics. Our generation is one that has more exposure than any prior
generation to twenty four hour reports on multi media devices. Thanks to the
internet and the World Wide Web, we have at our disposal many viewpoints and a
wealth of information. This does not necessarily mean that our generation is more
informed or knowledgeable than prior ones. Not all information we are exposed to is
true or unbiased.
Learning what is true and what is not true is harder today than it once was . This
statement by the author of our text could refer to the fact that our technology today
is so advanced that photographs and videos can be altered in such a way that no
one is the wiser. Just because you are shown a photo or video does not mean it is a
realistic representation of what actually happened. You cannot always believe what
you see. One example of manipulation to a photo is an article in the LA Times

Rhetorical Analysis
The 1980 s were an interesting time for American television. Viewership was
steadily increasing, and the amount of family time spent in front of the television
screen was steadily declining. This was mainly due to the new format of television,
shows were no longer for all viewers, but instead had target audiences; MTV was
actually starting to show music videos, reality television was a new a popular form
of television, and Saturday morning cartoons were a part of every child s weekly
routine. Enter Post s Alpha Bits cereal commercial, circa 1990. An animated magical

young viewers, or else it would ve been audible. If the viewers are too young, then the
idea of healthy cereal may not be the best selling point. Another reason the messages
is silently displayed on the screen, is if there isn t too much attention drawn to that
message, it won t bring about too much discussion; because they never mention which

The Theory Of Supply And Demand
When an individual wants a good or service they will go wherever they need to get
that good or service that they want. You never really think how it gets there or why
there isn t any left. When you go to the store to buy groceries and the price has went
up you tend to get upset. Although, when they go down you think to yourself that
you better stock up. All of these changes occur because of demand and supply.
Demand and supply are the key components for the economy. Kirzner (2000) states in
his article: The theory of supply and demandis recognized almost universally as the
first step toward understanding how market prices are determined and the way in
which these prices help shape production and consumption decisions the decisions
that make up not shapes the prices for production and consumption of goods and
services.
Demand
According to Moffatt Demand is the relationship between the quantity of a good
or service consumers will purchase and the price charged for that good . It is the
want or need for a good or service to be produced. The amount of a good at a
certain price that an individual is willing to buy is called quantity demand. Prices
fluctuate for many reasons. When a price of a good or service goes up or down it
is called law of demand. If the price rises, the quantity demanded goes down. If the
price goes down, the quantity demanded goes up. This being that everything else is
equal. Also known as ceterius paribus. The two have an inverse effect on

Essay Haiti Corrupt Government
The Haitian government has been plagued with corruption from the beginning of its
existence. Haiti has been faced with many foul leaders and thus brought times of
despair for the Haitian people. The empowerment of poor leadership has led to a
country that has never known a period free of tyranny, repression, political conflict,
racial animosity, and economic hardship (Haggerty). Haitis capital, Port au Prince, is
a place where kidnappings and street crime are rampant, and the undermanned police
force is rife with corruption (Williams).

In the 1980s civil disorder broke out due to Baby Doc s inability to increase the
well being of the country. Six years later armed invasions forced Jean Claude and
his family to flee to France in exile. The Lieutenant General at the time seized power
and the hope for democracy soon faded. Gangs of thugs and corrupt soldiers ruled the
streets, killing many innocent people and postponing any attempt for a presidential
election.
A Roman Catholic priest by the name of Jean Bertrand Aristide was elected
president of Haiti in late 1990. Political prisoners were set free and Duvailer s
Tontons were disbanded. There was much hope for the government under the new
presidency, but due to the lack of confidence from the military, Aristide was
overthrown in 1991.
In September of 1994 the Clinton administration planned for a military invasion of
Haiti. The purpose was to force the military dictatorship out of power and place
Aristide back as president. As a last resort to war, Clinton sent a team headed by
former US president Jimmy Carter, to negotiate a peaceful solution to the crisis.
Carter succeeded in the negotiations and Aristide was peacefully restored to power.
After being out of office for three years Aristide was faced with two major problems.
One was the poor economy and the other was the violent street gangs that had taken
over since the lack of authority. Very little was accomplished to improve the

A Leader Is An Action Leading A Group Or Organization
What is leadership? It is defined as being an action leading a group or organization.
It involves being able to take control of certain situations, and leading in the correct
direction. Being a leader takes great knowledge and skill. It involves one being
able to make smart decisions in order for his/her congregation to come out as
successful. A leader must also know, that it is wise to have people in his/her corner
to advise them of good or bad decisions. President Barack Obama has his Vice
President, Joe Biden, along with his elite White House staff, including the
Secretary of State, to help with major decisions that could affect the nation. Pastors
have deacons who help them lead their congregation, or church, in the right path of
reaching others, who are seeking for help and prayer in time of need. A leader
must know that it is wise to have the correct people in his/her corner to keep them
on track, in order to not falter. If failing becomes even possible for a leader, it can
cause a catastrophic outcome for his/her followers. In Shakespeare s play Richard
II, we learn of a great king who chooses not to listen to the wise people in his
corner, and see the outcome of his choices. In Richard II, we see the slow downfall
of King Richard s reign over England. One of the first incidents that went against the
king, was the banishment of Bolingbroke and Mobray. Before their banishment, there
were issues between both men. Bolingbroke

Electrical Submersible Pump Analysis and Design
Case Services, Inc.
Abstract
Case Services software provides production optimization for a variety of different
methods of artificial lift. This paper discusses the dominant factors in electrical
centrifugal submersible pump design and monitoring. Emphasis is placed on three
areas: Well inflow performance behavior. Fluid Pressure Volume Temperature and
phase behavior. Pump equipment performance specifications.
An examination of fluid dynamics within a centrifugal pump provides appreciation
for the need to analyze the pump one stage at a time. The importance of individual
pump testing is also identified. This paper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, it is crucial to analyze pump performance based on a known good
condition. Experience has shown that each serialized pump demonstrates unique
performance data. Therefore, a factory pump test should be obtained before the pump
is installed in a well. The data from this test can be used throughout the equipment life
for accurate performance analysis. This discussion is limited to conventional
applications of centrifugal pumps specifically excluding: Pumps installed below the
producing formation. Downhole gas separation. Variable frequency drive
considerations.
Focus is placed upon the pump itself. The downhole motor is discussed only in
passing. Steady state operation (no pump cycling) is also assumed.

The Basics
This section describes the formulas that are the basis for the csSubmersible suite s
calculations. When employing any pumping method, optimum artificial lift is
achieved only when the pump is closely matched to the well s ability to produce
fluids. This is especially true with centrifugal pumping. Before the pump design
process can even begin, an accurate model of the well s inflow performance must be
developed.

Cuba, was elected president in 1940. At the beginning , he greatly improved the
education and economy. However, his term ended in 1944, when he moved to
Florida. During that time, corruption made its way back to Cuba, so Fulgencio;s
return through an overthrow of the government was widely welcomed by the people.
To their astonishment, he returned as an oppressive, cruel dictator, embezzling
money, favoring corruption , managing to be hated by the majority of the Cuban

Causes And Disadvantages Of Eutrophication
Eutrophication is the process by which an aquatic environment acquires a higher
concentration of two important nutrients: phosphates and nitrates in a certain
environment. This promotes excessive growth of algae on the surface of the water.
Living things need some specific nutrients to survive. Usually nature provides just the
specific amount of nutrients, but too many nutrients can cause dangerous problems
to the environment. This is presented in aquatic systems.
However the problems can also increase when aquatic environments such as lakes or
rivers have an overabundance of nutrients, when this happens eutrophication appears.
A Eutrophic lake occurs when there is a presence of too many nutrients such as
nitrogen and phosphorus that is usually as a result of drainage from surrounding land.
When a lake or other aquatic system becomes eutrophic, then we can have ... Show

A 2008 study counted 405 dead zones across the world. Hypoxia occur when there is
low oxygen in a specific area, so this is a natural phenomenon in coastal areas
around the world. Aquatic dead zones can be caused by an increase in nutrients such
as nitrates and phosphates known as eutrophication.Major nutrients comes from
human activity such as fertilisers in agriculture and burning fossil fuels , these
nutrients lead to rapid increase on phytoplankton resulting in algae bloom . These
organic matter produced sinks to the bottom of the ocean were bacteria break it
down, when bacteria break down this organic matter they consumed oxygen
liberating carbon dioxide. So this process makes the water hypoxic( low quantities
of oxygen) making fish and other species to migrate to other places but there are
some plants and animals that cannot move so fast that they die because they need
oxygen to being alive and bacteria has taken away this essential oxygen for

The Marine Corps Essay
You will take your place among the most elite warriors on earth. If you have what
it takes to make it Simple key words that leaves the reader thinking is the most
important element in propaganda, and this quote above does an exemplary job at
doing just that. For almost 100 years the United States of America has done an
amazing job at persuading and influencing the hearts and minds of people around the
globe specifically voluntary recruits. By using so few words and being ambiguous it
leads the reader towards conceptualizing this idea as something they could take on
and image for themselves.
The Few. The Proud. The Marines . A catch phrase that has taken on a meaning of
its own and has been a part of the Corps since the 1970 s when the draft was

Recording Studio Miami Essay
Recording Studio Miami
There are certain cities in the United States that have a very strong musical history.
Los Angeles, New York, and Memphis have long been associated with some of the
finest singers and songwriters in American history and will be for centuries to come.
However, there is one southeastern city which has more recently cemented its place
in America s musical yearbook: Miami.
A popular destination for international revellers and spring breakers, Miami has
become one of the foremost locations for DJs, rappers, and R B artists. It still has a
long way to go before it is mentioned in the same conversation as Tin Pan Alley, but
its music scene is vibrant and in a state of perpetual growth. If you are trying to

Informative Elements In The Film Frankenhobish
Frank Henenlotter doesn t have the largest body of work, but what he does have
stands out, Frankenhooker being his fourth film. Frankenhooker is a black comedy
horror film with some strong exploitative elements, that s garnered a decent cult

given the fact it s named Frankenhooker and you should know the kind of filmyou re

Fatty Acid Composition Of Adipose Tissue And Colorectal...
Fatty acid composition of adipose tissue and colorectal cancer: a case control study
Colorectal cancer is considered as the third most common cancers worldwide that
usually leads to the death of the patient. Studies have proved that lifestyle factors
great influence the development and spread of cancer. Modifying the lifestyle can
reduce the risk of getting colorectal cancer by 70%. It is noted that more
consumption of red and processed meat increase the risk of developing colorectal
cancer. However, high intake of dietary fibers decreases it. On the contrary
epidemiologic studies that connect the fat intake with colorectal cancer are varying
and unreliable. The concentrations of fatty acids in human serum and in the
membranes of red blood cells depict the intake of previous days or weeks.
Conversely, the fatty acid concentration in the adipose tissue truly show the habitual
dietary intake in the previous two to three years. Hence, various studies that aim to
explore the correlation between the concentration of fatty acids and cancer risk use
adipose tissue in this request.
The case study discussed in this paper is conducted in Five University hospitals
located in Northeastern France (Cottet and others 2015). Subcutaneous adipose tissue
samples were acquired from the surgery departments through surgeons. The samples
belonged to the patients who were admitted for elective abdominal surgery. These
patients were recently diagnosed of primary colorectal cancer.

Does the main game hold up? You bet it does! The tale of Mario Luigi s adventures
in the Beanbean Kingdom is still hilarious and in my eyes was well worth playing
through once again. At a good 8 10 hours depending on your experience and how
much of the side content you wish to partake in, the game is somewhat simpler than
its successors, but less gimmicky as a result.
The most obvious difference compared to the original is the shift from purely 2D
sprites to more textured visuals found in more recent instalments. These are as
appealing as they can be, but the thing that truly impressed me was the use of
shadows and lighting in darker areas to make the visuals pop out. It s a neat effect

There is also a dedicated button to allow both Mario Bros. to jump normally without
the need to swap back to the standard jump icon. It s an absolute godsend, eliminating

As for new combat features, the timing for pressing buttons for moves has been made
demonstrably clearer, even giving the button combinations on the bottom screen
before selecting the attack, as well as the ability to practice. These were features
present in more modern Mario Luigi games, but are welcome here.

Freedom Of Abstract Expressionism By Chuck Close
Chuck Close is a contemporary artist, known for painting monumental heads. For
his subjects, Close used portraits drawn of himself, his family members, friends, and
fellow artists. He chose this selective group of people because they just regular
ordinary folks. He felt that if he used celebrity as subject matter, this would only
distract from appreciating the beauty of his work. In addition all his portraits are title
using only the first names.
Close explored the concept of visual language in his painting but eventually rejected
it as he adopted his own personal style thus making the switch from the freedom of
Abstract Expressionism to a more figurative painting style which has more restrictive
controls on his subject matter and his

Mental Health And Mental Illness
Nursing education includes theoretical studies and clinical experiences which cannot
be substitute with other. While starting my nursing career as a student without any
previous experiences in mental health, I also have the same attitude as general people
where mentally ill people are vulnerable, dangerous, unpredictable, and to some
degree responsible for their own illness. Initially, I was not fully prepared, anxious
and stressed to start the course. After studying mental health, I found what is mental
health, what are the causes of mental illness, disease type, a severity of diseases and
as being nurse how can we treat mentally ill people. Hence, after studying mental
health, my perspective towards the mentally ill patient is totally changed and feel
more comfortable to deal with mental illness.
Before studying mental health, I thought that mental illness cannot be recovered
fully. It can only be controlled because whenever mental illness topic used to discuss,
stress was one and only topic which comes on my mind. According to Jorm, Barney,
Christensen, Highet, Kelly, and Kitchener (2006), there is a huge gap in people and
professionals, people are not believing in the treatment of mental illness. However,
mental illness can be recovered with proper counselling, guidance and treatment
(Stanton, Tooth, and Champ, 2017). Mental illness can be caused by different factors
such as work pressure, ethnic group, intellectual disability, economic and social
status, immoral

This young man at the age of six years old had to witness the death of his beloved
father. Rufus is the protagonist of the novel. The narrator spends more time relating
his point of view than any other character s. We learn through a series of stories that
Rufus is an intelligent and sensitive little boy. At the end of the novel, we is not
entirely sure what he makes of his father s death. Rufus understands that death is a
permanent condition, but the full weight of grief has not yet struck him. Throughout
the novel, Rufus questions his mother s and his aunt s faith in God. Whenever the
women give him religious explanations, Rufus questions them tirelessly, wanting an
answer that makes logical sense. A notable instance of this questioning is just after his
father s death, when Mary calls Rufus and little Catherine to her and tells them that
God has taken their father. Rufus must ask if his father is dead; the word dead has an
absolute meaning for him that her religious explanation does not. When his aunt tells
Rufus and Catherine the facts surrounding their father s murder, Rufus says that if the
concussion killed his father, then it was not God that killed him. Rufus cannot
understand how his aunt and his mother believe that it was both God and the
concussion that killed his

Cattle Industry Research Paper
Imagine a world without the cattle industry, without beef, and without livelihood

impacts, and there are plenty of studies that people read that only show the
negative side. These include harm to the Earth and environment. However, there
are many positive impacts of the beef and cattle industry that are not well known,
or people do not think about very often. The cattle industry is very important in our
world today. It is a major part of our health, it provides the population many
everyday products, and it can have a positive impact on land. In addition, the cattle
industry provides the United States population with healthy nutrition that they need

The Survivors Of The Holocaust
Elizabeth Feldman de Jang and Nathan Nothman are both survivors of the
Holocaust, but just like every individual survivor, they share different stories. One
of the few things that may unite them is the specific fact that they are both Jewish
and despite all odds, they managed to survive and share their stories. Elizabeth
Feldman de Jang was born December 19th of 1916 in Amsterdam. Both of her
parents were deaf and because of their disability, they were not observant Jews; it was
simply too difficult to practice Judaismin a synagogue where there was no sign
language. Other than having two deaf parents, Feldman would describe her
childhood as normal and full of good times. The community she grew up in had a
relatively low Jew population where everyone was close knit and because of that
fact, she did not experience any anti Semitism. Nathan Nothman was born July 15th
of 1925 in Poland. Unlike Feldman, his family practiced Judaism and lived within a
Jewish community. Poland was very gentile orientated place and because of the
unequal distribution of Jews in correlation with gentiles, Nothman experienced anti
Semitism at an early age.
Structure
The development of the stories told by the survivors both began with each narrator
identifying the type of childhood they each had. One of the only common grounds
they shared was that they were Jews. Other than that, the two individuals had two
completely Holocaust experiences, which I believe is true for every Holocaust victim.

The Role Of Homeostatic Mechanisms Of Homeostasis
Essay
Homeostasis 3.4 Hannah Miller
Introduction
My investigation is about Homeostasis. Homeostasis is maintaining a physiological
system in a higher animal to maintain co ordinated responses. It tries to maintain the
environmental changes, and a condition of balance or equilibrium within its internal
environment. Homeostasis is the process of keeping everything constant. The higher
animal I have chosen is Humans. The reason why I have chosen Humans is because
there are so many homeostatic mechanisms available for this higher animal.
Homeostatic mechanisms are important because it maintains your core body
temperature so the enzymes within the body are able to run at an optimum level.
(pers comm [Nicole Mitchell], 2016) If an enzyme get too cold the process of
bonding with proteins will slow until they are unable to bond, if an enzyme is too
hot it will de nature meaning its shape will change and be unable to bond with
proteins, both being too cold and too hot will kill the host as organs are unable to
function without proteins . It regulates the body temperature so you don t heat up too
much. A negative feedback loop is important because it allows the mechanism to stop,
so you don t die. The mechanism I have chosen to do for my investigation are
thermoregulation (temperature) and blood pressure. A human is an Endotherm (warm
blooded). Endotherm is an organism which generates heat to maintain its body
temperature and

Jim Crow Law Impact

In 1696, black people were able to vote without any problems at all. Our lives begin
to end the day we become silent about things that matter. (Martin Luther King
Junior). This impacted many lives when it came to this one law. If you did not
receive any felony and or went to prison, you had the right to not vote at all! The
worst part was that if you were a black person trying to vote right there, then you
would be receiving a felony for even voting. Yet this happens almost all day in the
same way! Sure black people have the rights to vote, but they go to prison more
likely because of how the racism impact their lives today. Jim Crow has affected
many lives and even right now! But what reason is because of unfair trials and
being guilty from thin air. During Atticus case, he had to face a negro named Tom
Robinson who was Framed for Rape and abuse. Atticus had it in the bag, yet the
judge tossed him in prison. There s something in our world that makes men lose
their heads they couldn t be fair if they tried. In our courts, when it s a white man s
word against a black man s, the white man always wins. They re ugly, but those are
the facts of life. (Harper lee 220). Somehow this still keeps on going for black people

The Outsider Identity Of Society
In our world, almost everyone can be grouped as either an outsider or an insider;
they may lose insider status, but one s society makes it nearly impossible to lose
outsider status. This theme is represented in Nathanial Hawthorns novel, The
Scarlet Letter, as well as the articles, The First White President, by Ta Nehesi
Coates, and American Schools Are Failing Nonconformist Kids, Here s How by
Elizabeth Weil. Some may disagree with the idea that culture reinforces one s stutus,
as shown in Weil s article s support of the idea that society could change the
struggling students state of being an outsider. In reality, one s status is directly
caused by their society, for example in The Scarlet Letter, Hester is demoted to the
outside when she violates the strict Puritandoctrine, which prohibits adultery.
Similarly, Coate s article tells that his society s support of the white supremacist
leader, President Donald Trump, is a major contribution to African American s
permanent outsider status. In all, as shown in these sources, it can be seen that the
zeitgeist of the people in a particular period has a profound effect on people s
classification as an insider or an outsider. The article American Schools Are Failing
Nonconformist Kids, Here s How, goes against the claim that society is the main
culprit in distinguishing an outsider from an insider, by putting the blame on the
education system. In her article, Weil provides many examples on how, were it not
for the schools

Under the pressure of a massive rise in number pupils in middle and high schools,
project pedagogy was presented as a possible solution to meeting the needs of the
diversity of pupils, addressing their individual needs, and developing pupil autonomy
(GinestiГ©, 2002). It was in this context, in 1985, that technology education was
introduced in France as a part of science and technology education in elementary
schools, as a new subject for all pupils in middle schools and as an optional subject
in high schools. We can note four stages of organization of technology education
between 1985 and today.
1.1.2 1985 1991: the implementation of the first curriculum
Technology education was conceived of as a new subject and took the place of
MTE (manual and technical education) in terms of hours, classrooms, and teachers.
The curriculum emphasized the industrial environment, leaving little room for home
economics and craftsmanship (COPRET, 1984). It had two different elements that
made these references plain. On the one hand, the general part of the course described
the overall goals, context, and aims of technology education in France.
The aims were in terms of pupils attitudes towards technology (as related in many
papers, e.g. de Vries, 1994; Jones, 1997; Compton amp; Jones, 1998; Gardner amp;
Hill,
1999; Dugger, 2000) and in terms of the social and professional world of industrial

DREAM Act
Senate Bill 1291, The Development, Relief Education for Alien Minors Act or
DREAM Act, was originally introduced on August 1, 2001, by Senator Orrin Hatch
[R UT] and Richard Durbin [D IL]. Senator Hatch explained that the purpose of the
bill was to allow children who have been brought to the United Statesthrough no
volition of their own the opportunity to fulfill their dreams, to secure a college
degree and legal status (Cong. Rec. S8581).
The sixteen year history of the DREAM Act has been futile despite various sponsors
and versions and dozens of votes, the bill has failed again and again. In June 2012,
President Barack Obama issued the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act, or
DACA (Alcindor and Gay Stolberg), with the hope that eventually Congress would
pass the DREAM Act. The executive action would lift the shadow of deportation
from these young people , a generation of people known as DREAMers who were
brought to the United States illegally as children, and grant work authorization papers
(Friedersdorf). Note that this action does not grant legal status. On September 5,
2017, the Trump administration rescinded the order leaving the more than 800,000
DREAMers unprotected, unable to attend higher education and unable to work
legally. With six months until the rescission is fully active, Congress will be forced

Observation Report On Field Experience
Field Experience My first day of observations had finally arrived. Filled with
excitement, I opened the doors to Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, and walked
into the front office to sign in as a guest for the day. I made my way to the second

grade instructor greeted me as I entered her classroom, with a big bright smile I
found made her classroom warm and inviting.
Mrs. Lawrence had her students desks arranged in three rows of grouped tables.
The first row is composed of eight tables and chairs, second row is composed of nine
tables and chairs, the third row is composed of eleven tables and chairs, and one

Students requiring assistance in a specific area are removed from class during the
lesson s time slot as an attempt to assist and improve a student s understanding of said
lesson. During my observations in her classroom, I observed Reading/Writing and
Math lessons. For her Reading/Writing lesson, she discussed cause and effect. She
had a couple of examples displayed on the smart board. She read the sentence and
called on students to answer specific questions relating to her lesson. Some students
were eager to answer and others not so much.
Mrs. Lawrence frequently utilizes rhymes and actions, such as rhythm hand clapping
to gain her student s attention. She also uses songs to give students enough time to
get their things together during lesson transitions or station transitions located
throughout her classroom. The sayings and hand actions very catchy, and her
signing was a great way to get students to take responsibility for themselves and to
do as instructed. Mrs. Lawrence divided her students into four stations or groups
during her Reading/Writing and Math lessons. A group of students played
educational games on the smart board, a second group would silent read during
reading/writing, a third group would work on worksheets, and a fourth group would
meet with here for one on one lesson instruction. Mrs. Lawrence had her students

Research Study on Gender Differences
Non verbal communication is defined as communication without words. (Devito,
116) Throughout your interpersonal interactions, your face communicates many
things, especially your emotions. (Devito, 125) Women are stereotyped in today s
society as to being more emotional than men in emotional settings. Not in all
instances is this true, however, men feel they need to set a strong, domineering,
display of their emotions and the way they react towards certain emotional situations.
Genderdisplay rules are a set of rules that usually either maleor femalefollow in order
to fit their specific gender script in society. It is stated in the textbook that women talk
more about feelings and emotions and use communication for emotional expression...

The results of the participants ratings presented that there was no difference
between females and males on the way they rated the unpleasantness of the stimuli.
The study proved that females show a larger amount of facial muscle reaction than
males to fear relevant situations, however, there was no difference between the
genders with the ratings of unpleasantness. The results of this study prove that
females are more facially reactive than males. However, this study does not prove
the second hypothesis, which states that females are more emotional in general.
(Thunberg Dimberg) Part two of the textbook teaches about messages, which are
spoken and unspoken. It covers in depth about non verbal communication and non
verbal messages. The article I chose to summarize falls into a few different
categories which the book emphasizes on. There is a lot of information about how
females and males are supposed to act in society, which falls under the term Gender
display rules. Due to the fact this research article is about differences in facial
reactions between male and females, it falls under two main categories of part two of
the textbook, which include facial messages, and gender display rules. There are also
other aspects that this article can relate to the textbook material such as: Non verbal
messages, gender stereotypes, non verbal communication,

My Experience In Music
I wanted to tell you about my experience in the world of music and how it helped
me express myself and I started to find my talents as well as learn who I was and to
not let bullying stop me from doing what I loved to do. I used to think that I did not
have great skills in the music field. Even though everyone in my family is a music
person I did not learn or get the skills like they did. But I did not want to take gym
because I got teased a lot for it. I was bullied a lot in school so wanted to try
something new in middle school and my only other option was band and even
though I was teased for being in band and being called a band geek it s a step that
started to change my experience in life and how I interacted with others and my
confidence to try new things and have confidence in myself and to trust myself. I
was in the 6th grade and I was just trying to figure out who I was. I started out
looking at all the instruments they had. Then the band director had us try several of
the instruments. Well let s just say I did not like the trumpet, flute my hands could not
fit well on that and most girls played that as well so I wanted something different. I
was then asked to try the tuba which is was not happy about but I did but my teacher
then showed me the bass clarinetit was different but smaller than the tuba and bigger
then the flute or trumpet. I knew i did not want to do a brass instrument I told him
that I did not feel like that it was me. But I m so glade he gave me

Analysis Of The Killing Of Grendel
The killing of Grendel lets the reader experience a combination of the vital
elements. The pity is experienced from the reader not towards the death of
Grendel but towards the Danes and Geats who have been harmed by his attacks.
Fear is experienced as no one would like to be terrorized and live in fear of another.
Fear, as well as Mimesis is found in the form of Grendel s attack on Heorot. The
vivid language that the unknown author of Beowulfuses to describe Grendel s vicious
descent on Heorot not only places the reader in the shoes of the victims and allows
them, in a way, imitation of fear experienced by those being attacked at Heorot. As
Aristotle points out, reversal and suffering are two critical components in the nature
of tragedy(Poetics30). Reversal being the change in direction of events from good
fortune at Heorot to bad fortune; although this should be expected as only good
fortune in a poem, or any written work for that matter, would make for a
monotonous story. Suffering is another part that makes a poem a tragedy. It
involves the pain or destruction of something (Poetics 30). Suffering will also
cause the reader to experience mimesis as it involves extreme agony not unlike in
the case of the Danes the night after Grendel s attack. After Grendel s attack, the
reader sees the downfall of the Danish society under King Hrothgar, the king lost
hope and was numb with grief (134). Even the people were hopeless as they turned to
pagan gods and feared raids from

Re Writing History And Rwandan Identity Through The
Kigali...
Re writing History and Rwandan Identity Through the Kigali Genocide Memorial
Centre
In April 2004, the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre opened to commemorate the
tenth anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide. Peacefully overlooking the city of
Kigali, the Centre seeks to be a place of remembrance and honor for survivors as well
as a step towards creating Rwanda s post genocide identity. Rwanda has sought to
find its place politically, socially, and in memory through this westernized
approach to remembrance. The museum is comprised of the display of a
permanent exhibition, a memorial garden, a small library and documentation
center, and a mass grave holding over 250,000 genocide victims who were killed in
and around the city of Kigali during the 1994 genocide. Although the Kigali
Genocide Memorial Centre is poised to be an impactful space and place for
remembrance and education, I will argue that it has become a place for revisionist
history and political agendas to be promoted.
Before the genocide of 1994, Rwanda had been a country of great political and
social turmoil. Deep seeded ethnic tensions which had plagued Rwanda since its
colonization, first by Germany and then Belgium, came to a devastating and bloody
genocide in April 1994 in which, over a period of approximately 100 days, between
800,000 and one million Tutsi and Hutu people were left dead. Today scholars believe
that there is no actual ethnic distinction between the two people groups aside from
those assigned in
