Begin With the End in Mind Habit 2:

Habit 2: Begin with an End Mind Understand the end result Begin With the End in Mind means to begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen .

Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind is based on imagination— the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes . It is based on the principle that all things are created twice. There is a mental (first) creation, and a physical (second) creation. The physical creation follows the mental, just as a building follows a blueprint. If you don’t make a conscious effort to visualize who you are and what you want in life, then you empower other people and circumstances to shape you and your life by default. It’s about connecting again with your uniqueness and then defining the personal, moral, and ethical guidelines within which you can most happily express and fulfill yourself. One of the best ways to incorporate Habit 2 into your life is to develop a Personal Mission Statement . It focuses on what you want to be and do. It is your plan for success. It reaffirms who you are, puts your goals in focus, and moves your ideas into the real world. Your mission statement makes you the leader of your own life. You create your destiny and secure the future you envision.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by: Stephen Covey 01 Habit 1: Be Proactive ® Focus and act on what you can control and influence instead of what you can’t. 02 Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind ® Define clear measures of success and a plan to achieve them. 03 Habit 3: Put First Things First ® Prioritize and achieve your most important goals instead of constantly reacting to urgencies. 04 Habit 4: Think Win-Win ® Collaborate more effectively by building high-trust relationships. 05 Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood ® Influence others by developing a deep understanding of their needs and perspectives. 06 Habit 6: Synergize ® Develop innovative solutions that leverage diversity and satisfy all key stakeholders. 07 Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw ® Increase motivation, energy, and work/life balance by making time for renewing activities.

What Is The Be, Do, Have Model? The Be, Do, Have Model can be simplified as a trio of steps to achieve a goal. The “be” step is the idea of encompassing an authentic personality or traits that align with the behaviors needed to reach your goal. Step two focuses on “do.” In this middle phase, you’re doing the actions necessary to move you toward your goal . Finally, step three homes in on the “have.” This is the conclusion to your behaviors and actions. Presumably, i f you behave a certain way and display goal-oriented actions, you get to have the desired result .

The BE DO HAVE Principle Principle The Be Do Have principle explains how, if we move our focus from what we have (or don’t have), to who we want to be – and align our goals and actions with that state of being, in time, we’ll achieve our haves. “When I have, I’ll do, and then I’ll be, becomes, who must I be and what must I do to have what I want.“ BE Define and create your preferred way of being – in alignment with your goals. DO Your way of being will propel you into appropriate action (the do). HAVE The results of your action will enable you to reach your goal. When I have more time I’ll spend it with my family and I’ll be a better parent… BECOMES… I need to BE the best parent now, so I must reduce my working hours to develop great relationships with my family.

The Be Do Have Principle of Achievement Everyone wants to succeed at something! Furthermore, we all want to achieve more. However, "having" can only be realized when we do more, and doing more can only be accomplished by being more. To quote Zig Ziglar, "You have to BE before you can DO and DO before you can HAVE." In other words, the simplest formula to achieving success is; Be, Do, Have. BE Being is the essence of who we are. It is becoming the best version of yourself. To "be" means being authentic, trustworthy, and possessing good character. It is having congruence between who you think you are and what you do . The contrary is what is referred to as cognitive dissonance, which means that there are inconsistencies between who you think you are and what you do. To have, therefore, you must do all that lies within your power to change the inconsistency.  DO Doing is intricately linked to being and is a reflection of who you are, including your beliefs, views, and values about life . In essence, who you think you are, will determine the actions you take, and the actions you take will determine the results you get . It is prudent, therefore, to assess your action daily to determine if they are consistent with who you are because no one usually outperforms their self-esteem, which is the core of who we are. HAVE Having is the result of who we are and what we do . Therefore, a significant part of achieving success hinges on who you are. This reality is because, in life, you don't attract what you want; you instead attract who you are . So what if the problem is not the problem? What if you are the problem? Could it be that your internal state keeps getting in your way? As Earl Nightingale suggests, "We are all self-made, but only the successful will admit it." In other words, all that we are is the result of who we decide to be. Therefore, If you want to do more and have more in life, you must become more.  https://www.floydspence.com/blog/the-be-do-have-principle-of-achievement
