Disclaimer Our presentation has some terms that might not be familiar to some people, so please feel free to ask us to explain the terms. Some part of our presentation has the Ayurvedic point of view of seeing at this pandemic which can be a bit surprising to some people Please help us by not interrupting between our presentations If anyone has a doubt please raise your hands so that it is convenient for us

What basically are viruses? Micro-organisms Consists of nucleic acid and proteins Infectious Agents Able to reproduce by affecting the host cells

Why are these dangerous??

Now what is Corona Virus? These are enveloped single-stranded RNA viruses that are zoonotic in nature Structure These are spherical in shape The envelope bears club-shaped spiked (glycoprotein) projections.

Types of corona viruses(known to humans) HCoV-229E HCoV-OC43 SARS-CoV HCoV-NL63 HCoV-HKU1 MERS-CoV

The Virus at first sight 29 December 2019, the first four cases of an acute respiratory syndrome of unknown aetiology were reported in Wuhan City. It appears that most of the early cases had some sort of contact history with the original seafood market.

Note- The data on the 2 nd graph is of cases per day

How does it enter our body? When and infected person coughs or sneezes the droplets carrying the virus are exposed to the environment When a person intakes these droplet through the eye or mouth or nose or ears the virus enters his body and starts approaching our body cells with ACE2 receptors

Contd.. The ACE2 receptors identify the virus as a friend favourable substance due to the spike protein These viruses are hence allowed to enter our cells

Whom does it tend to affect? Factors on which infection depends Immunity Age Exposure to infected people Amount of exposure

Which organs are affected Organs affected by the virus Lungs Adrenalin Gland Kidney Heart

Physical Effects on our body Symptoms Fever Dry cough Tiredness Headache S ore throat Signs Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath Chest pain or pressure Loss of speech or movement

How d oes it affect us?? Incubation period- Critical Stage It enters the cell and starts replicating itself. Inflammation of some organs, due to a huge no. of copies of the virus. The body then starts to increase its temperature to kill the virus which the patient experiences as a fever Sometimes the virus causes the surfactant to deform into fluid which blocks the exchange of gases, which, in most severe cases causes the death of the patient

Ayurveda’s Opinion About Corona Virus

Prevention Is Better than Cure स्वस्थस्य स्वास्थ्य रक्षणम | आतुरस्य विकार प्रशमनं || Translation: To protect the health of a healthy person and to cure the diseased. Charak Samhita

Prevention Primary – Before the disease Secondary – After the disease Tertiary - Too much treatment

Who is healthy? समदोषा: समाग्निश्च समधातुमलक्रियाः। प्रसन्नात्मेंद्रिय मनः स्वस्थ इति अभिधीयाते॥ Equilibrium of Doshas , Agni, Waste metabolism Blissful Spirit, Senses and Mind Sushrut Samhita

How do we become healthy? Proper:- Diet Sleep Lifestyle

Secondary Prevention Prevention after disease is:- Not let others get affected by Corona Prevent Corona from affecting our body severely before it does After symptoms are seen immediately consult a doctor

Tertiary Prevention After we are tested positive and have symptoms of Covid 19 :- We need to prevent the other chronic diseases caused by corona The medicines given to cancel the systems of corona have side effects which we need to prevent Sometimes people get cured and get discharge and then think that now I am undefeatable and get overconfident and after sometime come to hospital with worse symptoms

Intensities Of Corona Virus 1 st Level- Mild symptoms or asymptomatic 2 nd Level- Symptoms/Signs are clearly visible, no life threat 3 rd Level- very serious issues, l ife threatening signs.

The main highlights to prevent the Corona Virus or COVID-19 given by Indian government are:- STAY home. KEEP a safe distance. WASH hands often. COVERING our mouth while we cough. And if we are sick then Call the helpline. Prevention measures of corona virus
