The corona virus COVID-19 pandemic is causing a global health crisis so the effective protection methods is wearing a face mask in public areas according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The COVID-19 pandemic forced governments across the world to impose lockdowns to prevent virus transmissions. Reports indicate that wearing facemasks while at work clearly reduces the risk of transmission. A model using deep machine learning for face mask detection will be presented. A face mask detection dataset consists of with mask and without mask images , we are going to use OpenCV to do real-time face detection from a live stream via our webcam. Our goal is to identify whether the person on image/video stream is wearing a face mask or not with the help of deep learning. ABSTRACT

In order to effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to wear a mask. Therefore, it is very essential to improve the face recognition performance of the existing technology on masked and unmasked faces. Face mask detection platform uses Machine Learning to recognize if a user is wearing a mask or not. The task here is to predict people wearing masks or not wearing them, given an image or a video. It is an object detection and classification problem with 2 different classes(Mask and Without Mask). PROBLEM STATEMENT

The development of face mask detection will help track safety violations, promote the use of face masks, and ensure a safe working environment. What they say? The development of face mask detection helps to detect if the person is wearing a face mask and allow their entry would be of great help to the society What they see? We receive lot of info from internet,news . Covid face mask detection.

Why to use this? As lockdown ends the schools ,airports and other public gatherings have to come back to normal. It is very essential to use face mask in public gatherings as it is a primary step towards reducing spreading of covid. It is very important to know whether the people at these gatherings use face masks . So implementing this detection system helps detecting people not wearing masks and alert them to wear masks.

How it works? Load image as input: The system shall receive as input an image or picture file from the user. Detect human face(s) with mask or without mask: The system shall be able to detect the presence of human face(s) with or without mask contained in the input image Perform image processing: The image processing shall include converting the image into a predefined format and also into the required image representation .

CONCLUSION As the technology is blooming with emerging trends it is easy to facilitate novel face mask detector which can possibly contribute to public healthcare. Furthermore, the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art results on a public face mask dataset. By the development of face mask detection we can detect if the person is wearing a face mask and allow their entry would be of great help to the society. This will help track safety violations, promote the use of face masks, and ensure a safe working environment.

FUTURE SCOPE We also plan to extend our analysis to other datasets that contain a wider range of mask types. Since measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 infections go in the direction that a certain group of people must use a certain type of mask, it would also make sense to design a classifier that can differentiate between different types of face-masks. Additionally, application should be for Mobile to use mobile’s camera as well as for CCTV camera.
