About the play : The Waiting for Godot Waiting for Godot is play by Samuel Bucket. Waiting for Godot is Buckets translation of his own French language play, ‘An attendant Godot’. It is a Small tragedy divided into Two acts. The original French text was composed between 9 October 1948 and 29 January 1949.

The character list of waiting for godot : Vladimir : He was a main character of the play.Estragon say to him ‘Didi’and the boy addressed him Mr. Albert. Estragon: He also well known and useful character of the play. Vladimir say to him ‘Gogo’. Lucky :Lucky remain completely faithful to him. He remains faithful and has not tried to run away. He passes by the spot where Vladimir and Estragon are waiting and provides a diversion. Pozzo : In second act pozzo gone blind he need to led by Lucky. In Act I, he entertains by dancing and thinking. However, in Act II, he is dumb.

Continued….. Boy  - He appears at the end of each act to inform Vladimir that Godot will not be coming that night. In the second act, he insists that he was not there the previous night. Godot  - The man for whom Vladimir and Estragon wait unendingly. Godot never appears in the play. His name and character are often thought to refer to God.

Character of Estragon : Estragon represents the impulsive, simplistic side of the two main  characters, much in contrast to his companion Vladimir's careful intellectualism and verbosity. He cares little for appearances, and is mostly concerned with eating and sleeping. This is perhaps because Estragon has far more to worry about. Of the two, Estragon suffers the most physically.  He also has great difficulty with his boots. In the first act, they do not fit and cause him pain. At the end of the act, he leaves them on the side of the road in disgust. In the second act, he finds them in the same place, now mysteriously fitting him.

Continued…… He considers people to be "ignorant apes" and seems to want them to leave him alone. Appearance of Estragon : Estragon is given perhaps the most minimal description in the play. He is only described as wearing "rags", walking with a limp and being lighter than Vladimir. Because of his rather gluttonous nature, however, he is often played as being short and slightly fat. His clothes are usually a bit dirtier than Vladimir's as well, and seem to be in far worse condition.
