Explore how breaking traditional tech codes and integrating Latin sensory and cultural contexts can transform AI into a more human and relevant tool for Brazil and the Latam region. Delve into the visual, physical, sonic, tactile, cultural, values, and social impacts of AI, and discover how tailoring AI to local nuances enhances user engagement, satisfaction, and overall experience. Learn about the challenges, opportunities, and successes of AI localization, and how these efforts foster deeper connections between people and technology.

Cultural AI:
Enhancing Human-Tech Bonds with Latin Senses
SXSW
Why settle for silver, cold, plastic
humanoids when we, as a society,
embrace colors, fashion, ancestry, and
even imaginative friends.
We believe that the five senses
integrated strategically with culture, can
help make AI far more relatable,
interesting and effective.
My name is Ricardo Figueira or Ric
Figtree In English, as you wish and I am
a native holistic designer.
Today, I’m also here on behalf of my
friend Marcellus Amadeus, a hardcore
AI expert.
Together, we would like to invite you
on a journey where we open up the
possibilities between humans and
technology by crafting a new world
where AI is not just a tool but an
extension of our human cultural
recognition.
During the presentation in Austin,
we will share experiments and
interactive experiences to introduce
different artificial tech and cultural
expressions that goes way beyond
language.
So, by designing AI through Latin
senses and culture, we believe that
we can create technology that
works, feels, sounds, and looks not
only more sensible and empathetic
globally but also enhances life
experiences universally.
