What is Cyber? Cyber refers to the technology that includes systems, networks, programs, and data What is Cybercrime? Cybercrime is any criminal activity that involves a computer, network or networked device. Cybercriminals use cybercrimes to generate a profit, some cybercrimes are carried out against computers or devices to directly damage or disable them.

Types of Cybercrime Cyberbullying is when someone uses technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person.

Cyber grooming is the process of ‘befriending’ a young person online “to facilitate online sexual contact and/or a physical meeting with them with the goal of committing sexual abuse”.

Malware and viruses If you try to find cheaper or free versions of your favorite games, then you risk inadvertently downloading viruses and  malware  instead. This is also the case when you access cheat codes or purchase items through third-party sellers. Even if you download a game legally, a security gap could still place you at risk. Once malware is on your machine, hackers can steal your personal information . Identity theft Cybercriminals collect personally identifiable information to build profiles on their potential victims. Criminals can potentially use the chat function to gather sensitive information such as your name, phone number, and house address. That's why it's essential to be careful about the information you share when you dealing with online. Spyware is malicious software that enters a user's computer, gathers data from the device and user, and sends it to third parties without their consent . Example: Keyloggers are spyware software that monitor and record keystrokes made by a user on a device. Every piece of keystroke data is saved to a file, which is sent to the attacker.

Malware , short for malicious software, refers to any intrusive software developed by cybercriminals (often called hackers) to steal data and damage or destroy computers and computer systems. Examples of common malware include viruses, worms, Trojan viruses, spyware, adware, and ransomware . Social media is beneficial?
