DATA
ANALYSIS
Data analysis involves gathering various factors
related to both the user and the product to inform
future decisions aimed at improving the user
experience. These factors are categorized into two
types of data: primary and secondary. Primary data is
obtained through direct methods such as tests and
interviews, where the study is built from the ground
up. Secondary data, on the other hand, is collected
from pre-existing sources, such as industry reports,
news articles, or online questionnaires, where the
information has already been gathered by others.

The importance of data analysis

What is?
RE-IDENTIFICATION
OF DATA
It is the process by which users' data are protected
from being disclosed, hiding personal data, for example
instead of saying the specific address, only the country
is specified, saying that someone lives in Australia,
(Radevska, 2024), mainly so that people are not
scammed, for ethics and to improve the participation of
users.
Why is important for
marketing?
You can share with other people in an organization data
that is not easily accessible or even not accessible at all.
In this case if we are talking about the marketing
department, they are in charge of promoting a product,
so the information they handle and receive is very
important to protect us and our user.

KEY LEGISLATIVE REQUIREMENTS RELATING TO
DATA ANALYSIS IN AUSTRALIA: THE PRIVACY ACT
1988
People’s rights in relation to the collection,
use and sharing of their personal information.
“Data used for data analytics may include
personal information, and the activities will
therefore be subject to the Privacy Act.
However, in many cases, these activities do
not require the use of personal information.
In these cases, organisations may choose to
use de-identified information.” (Australian
Gov, 2018)

Data Timeliness
THE IMPORTANCE OF
Data timeliness is important
because it affects the
relevance, usefulness, and
reliability of data. Data that
is outdated, delayed, or
inconsistent can lead to poor
decisions, wasted resources,
and missed opportunities.
(Link,2023)

authority of data

accuracy of findings
The relevance of the
data for the audience
You can gain a better
understanding of who your
audience is, what they want, and
how you can grab their
attention. You'll also be able to
understand their behaviour and
how their behaviour changes.

AVOID BIAS
Double-check the

people. Check for
inconsistency

importance of going
through the data
carefully
