Cultural Fests and Fairs 27 Sheetla Shaptami The festival is celebrated on the 7 th day of the dark fortnight in the months of Chaitra and Shravan according to the Hindu calendar. Sheetala Mata is considered to be the Goddess of children. Agriculture Rabi and Kharif, both are the main crops in the district. The main crops from production point of view in the district are Wheat, gram,bajra , barley, jowar, guar, moong, moth, methi , isabgol . DRAINAGE The important rivers which flows in the district are the Banas and its tributaries- Barach , Kothari and Khari. Other small rivers are Mansi, Menali , Chandrabhaga , Mez , Aeru & Nagota The river Banas raises in the Aravali hills in the north in Udaipur district and enters Bhilwara district near village Duriya ( Bhilwara Tehsil). This river flows towards the north and then north-east directions along with western side of the Jahazpur tehsil and enters in the Tonk district. There is no any natural lake in the district. Nahar Sagar , Ummed Sagar , Mandal, Guria , Paten, Govta , Nagdepaten , Arjungarh and Karera are men made lakes and the water of these lakes is utilized for irrigation as well as for domestic use.
