Introduction [1,3] A size-reduction unit depending for its action on collisions between the particles being ground, the  energy  being supplied by a compressed  fluid , (e.g., air or steam) that enters the grinding chamber at high speed. The important reasons for size reduction are easy handling. To increase the rate of solution in case of chemical substances, because reduction of the particle size increases the surface area for the action.

Principle [1,2] Fluid energy mill  operates on the  principle  of impact and attrition. Impact: P article concussion by a single rigid force (hammer). Attrition: Arising from particles scraping against one another or against a rigid surface (a file).

Construction [1,2] Jet mills can be designed to output particles below a certain size. While continuing to mill particles above that size, It has a diameter of 20 to 200 mm depending on the overall height of the loop, which may be up to about 2 m. Resulting in a narrow size distribution of the resulting product. Particles leaving the mill can be separated from the gas stream by cyclonic separation.

Determination Process [2,4] The particle size and shape are determined by, The speed of air/inert gas. Feed rate and size. The configuration of the mill. Design of the classifier. The position of the nozzle. The impact between the feed and air.

Working [1,2]

Advantages of Fluid Energy Mill [1,2,5] This mill is suitable for thermolabile substance because no heat is produced. The particle size of the product is smaller when compared to other methods. There is no contamination of the product. For oxygen or moisture sensitive materials inert gases like nitrogen can be used instead of normal air.

Disadvantages of Fluid Energy mill [1,2,5] Not suitable for soft, and fibrous material milling . The fluid Energy mill very Expensive, As compare to other mill. This mill can be create very noise. high energy consumption.

Pharmaceutical Uses of Fluid Energy Mill [1,2,4] This method is used where fine powders are required like antifungal drug , antibiotics etc. It is the choice of mill when a higher degree of drug purity is required.

Conclusion :- At last we will learn about this topic is, Fluid energy mill that can be reduced the size in bulk molecule to convert into smaller granular powder form. impact and attrition force that can be apply in size reduction process. this is the best method of size reduction.
