Prevent s people or objects from falling on the tracks and increase the available area where passengers can stand. Provide access for passengers to entrain or detrain when the train stops at the correct position in the station. Demarcate the passenger area from the non-passenger area and only allow authorized personnel to access the tracks through the PED Commercial advantage: PG are used for advertisement purposes too. The train formations that will run on these lines are of 3 cars. The trains stop at the end of the platform of a station that corresponds to the 3 car /6 car stopping point of the platform. The design will be based on a theoretical headway of 90 secs in order to permit trains to operate on a sustained headway of 100 secs under normal operations.Typical length of 3 car Trains will be approximately 67 meter and of 6 car trains will be approximately 135 Meter. PSG control system consists of normal operation mode and degrade operation mode(fault operation mode). There are three control modes: system control, platform control and emergency control which are monitored by industrial computer. The control priority of PSG system: emergency control, platform control and system control(high to low). PSC will receive the open command and close command from signalling system, control unit will dispatch motion order to all DCUs on the platform, in purpose of satisfying platform control locally, subsequently the signal of all doors closed & locked will be transmitted to signalling system. COMPONENTS OF PSD SYSTEM

Brief description of PG Subsystems 1 . Platform Screen Gate Local Control Panel (PSL) installed at Platform PSL is to used in degraded mode of operation when the communication between SIG and PSD not functioning normally. There are 2 PSL (Head & Tail)per platform. It is used to open/close all PG’s simultaneously. PSL can be operated from both track side and platform side by train driver and authorized staff respectively Platform side view Track side view

E&M provides raw power(415VAC 3Phase) from two sources located in S&T UPS room. The system consists of t wo sub-systems that are driving power, control power cabinets :- Driving power : Driving Power Cabinet convert the 415VAC to 110 VDC through driving rectifiers. Driving power cabinet consist of rectifiers, Power Distribution Units, Smart Monitoring Units. Control power : Control power cabinet consists of DC/DC Modules , Power distribution units, Smart Monitoring Device, Main Monitoring Screen .Power Source of Control Cabinet is provided by 110Vdc generated from driving power cabinet , than 110Vdc will be converted to 24Vdc or 24-60Vdc adjustable. This 24V is distributed to control system and subsystem like PSC, PSL , ECP and etc. for controlling and monitoring of PSG’s. 3. Power System installed in SPER room

PSC monitors the status of PSG’s at platform. PSC communicate with remote monitoring system inside OCC/BCC. PSC communicate with signaling system inside SER and exchange information (like door inhabited, PG system fault and etc.) with signaling system. PSC also used for maintenance of PG’s during non revenue hours. 4 . Platform Gate Central Interface Panel (PSC) installed at SPER.

5. Emergency Control Box (ECB)/Emergency Control panel (ECP) ECB panel is located inside the station controller room. It permits all PG system doors to be moved to open position to allow passenger to escape in the event of a major emergency like tunnel fire or any untoward situation in which on-board passenger evacuation becomes necessary. ECB is provided separately for each platform.
