DEFINITION According to Brunner and Suddhart : Dermatitis is inflammation of the upper layers of the skin, causing itching, blisters, redness, swelling, and often oozing, scabbing, and scaling. MANAGEMENT Medical management Topical corticosteroids : Corticosteroids is a anti-inflammatory and also suppress the immune response. Example: Dexamethasone Topical Antibiotic Therapy : I nhibition of inflammation caused by bacteria rather than a direct bactericidal effect.
