INTRODUCTION What is a Burner? A gas burner is a device that produces a non-controlled flame by mixing a fuel gas with oxidizer and allowing for ignition and combustion. What is Ceramic B urners? Ceramic Burners are the burners made up of ceramic materials like alumina, silicon carbide, zirconia etc., . These burners do not rust, very high in distribution and maintaining of temperature and less leakage of the fuels.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE Aim: To design and develop the ceramic burner. Objective: Selecting the suitable ceramic raw material and additives required. To design the shape of ceramic burner. To prepare the ceramic burner using casting method. To test the properties of ceramic burner. To produce the high temperature property burners.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED Plaster of paris mould. Torsion viscometer for viscosity, thixotrophy of the slip. Furnace with 1350-1400 deg/ celsius . Dilatometer for T hermal Expansion. Two slab guarded hot plate apparatus for Thermal Conductivity. Electronic Gas Leak detector for testing the leakage of gas through burner. Pressure Gauge for checking the supply fuel pressure .
CONCLUSION Ceramic burners have high temperature properties . So it is highly durable and highly safe compared to traditional burners. On the end of the project we will produce ceramic burner in feasible manner.
