4-Value
Value refers to the lightness or darkness of a color. It is the
degree of brightness or darkness of an object or area.
Value helps to create contrast, depth, and volume in an
artwork. Value is an especially important element in works
of art when color is absent. This is particularly likely with
drawings, printmaking, and photographs.
The highlight is where the light
hits the object and the shadows
is where the light cannot reach,
the cast shadow is placed on the
opposite side from the highlights.

5-Texture
Texture refers to the surface quality or ‘feel’ of an object,
such as roughness, smoothness, or softness. Actual
texture can be felt while simulated textures are implied by
the way the artist renders the surface area. It can be rough,
smooth, bumpy, or soft. Texture adds visual interest and
tactile sensations to art and design.
Color is what we see when light reflects off an object. It
can be described in terms of hue (the name of the color),
saturation (the intensity of the color), and value (the
lightness or darkness of the color). Colors evoke emotions
and can be used to convey messages in art and design.
